I think it's good to push back a bit on meandering guests, but I do prefer a certain amount of latitude given we're often talking about fringe topics that can't necessarily be held to such scrutiny.  Some folks want the tough questions or even full-on debunk mode from an interviewer.  But I listen to this stuff because I'm interested in the speculation, the "what if's", sometimes I just like hearing the tales for the fun/curiosity of it.

I thought the NDE lady, although a bit undisciplined, was pretty interesting - some of her observations I'd never heard before.  I don't hold her to the same scientific standards that I would say a meteorologist or astrophysicist.  Likewise I enjoyed Adair when he was on - even if he's a total fraud he was still a kick to listen to if only for pure entertainment value. 

It's a fine line I guess and each interviewer has to pick where they're comfortable.  I like that Dave is articulate, intelligent, and well-informed.  But when it comes to his analytical side, I hope he errs on the side of encouraging an exploration of ideas and experiences.

Well, for some fun some comic book guy recently did a fun retelling of Norse myths, not as good as reading sagas etx but a primer and fun, short read. Gaiman? I think? Rather folks do Hollander translation etc for sagas but the comic guy did a fun book.

Yeah, it's the cheapest exchange you can have with presented experience. Which might be my only real critique of Dave, sometimes he'll litigate the guest like he's a Redditor whoring for upvotes, sating the dull public mind with practiced reality. Art was the best at restraining that impulse for the sake of narrative and mystery.  Art's audience doesn't exist anymore, people's brains are different, which might also account for a big part of his success with these topics?

Maybe the naysayers are right, and this genre is withering on the vine, here in the internet-connected modern world.  Soon we will have chased away the bigfoots, ufo's, ghosts, and time travelers - we'll be left with hard science, true crime, history, economics, etc.

I think this is a good example of a "UFO Expert". He had the opportunity to go into great detail on the Nimitz UAP and the data that was given by the video and pilots. However, he seems to know almost nothing about it, then quickly shifted to his next anecdotal story.

He could have talked about

- Speed of UAP's
- Size of UAP's
- Altitude of US jets
- Speed of US jets
- Radar used to ID them
- ETC

He blew that opportunity.

This was by far his best interview (the guest i mean).  Usually he laughs a lot more and comes off as a fool.  He still doesn't give any details to his claims.  He gets his info second hand and writes books.  We'll see if Dave's "homework" assignment is followed through on.

In the clip you posted, one of the pilots made note of a whole "fleet" of them. I wonder how many other vids there were from that incident? From other vantage points, not to mention additional comments from the other pilots.
