I have no problem with the good spirited banter that, indeed, points out some areas that could use some improvement, on both sides.

I'm talking about the mean-spirited innuendo, engendered to cause emotional angst or pain.  This is unnecessary.

Well, let's see.  Long time loyal fans have been, um, 'seriously misled' multiple times about multiple things.  To the point of using his family as a prop to engender sympathy and concern.  To the point of insulting people's intelligence.  His fans were asked to participate in a 'blitz' for a show that appears to have been built on false pretenses from the start (Art's back! Tell your friends! Help us advertise!).  The carrot of a 'return' was held out for months, in an attempt to keep the subscriptions coming.  He shows up in his thread whenever he wants something or to promote something, but that's it.  One Heather Wade appears to be as deeply involved with the whole charade as he is.  I could go on. 

These aren't 'mistakes', or due to a lack of talent.  Off-hand, I'd say mean-spirited comments are quite necessary.  Just as commenting on George Noory's lack of effort is necessary.

I would estimate that 75% could do a radio show that wouldn't be awful.  But it depends a lot what "do a radio show" means.  What kind of show, and how much of it do they have to improvise?

I referred to natural talent. When a radio host has it, you can tell. They are well read, prepared to talk about the subject, literate, have good command of the English language, and are totally at ease/comfortable behind the mic. They speak as if they're talking to one person. An example, look at Art, then compare that to Heather. Pretty clear I think.

Well, yeah, but Mr. Bell is a star.  He can do a radio show whose contents he mostly has to improvise, and not only make it not-awful, but interesting enough that listeners would want to seek his show out for more.  Not only that, but he did shows on subjects he really wanted to know more about; nobody told him who he had to have on, or what it had to be about.

But there are all kinds of radio shows, and all kinds of styles.  One of my favorite examples of someone who does an entertaining show but is far from a natural at it is Gaylord Fields.  His delivery is halting or otherwise strangely cadenced, such that he sounds uncomfortable even when you know he's comfortable.  He even looks like a nerd.  Yet his performance is lovable.  He's a DJ on WFMU, so he's playing records, interviewing, stuff like that.

So I'm trying to figure out your standards as to what chance Ms. Wade would have by them.

On a scale from 1-10 I'd give her a 3.  She shows up for work every day after all.
I'm sorry, but I can't even give her a 5, meaning she would be as interesting to listen to as the average person I meet on the street every day.
