Why does capital letters annoy people?  I never figured that out.
I agree, why does they?

What I find fumy is people come here to Japan on vacation and some, not all eat at McDonald's and other fast food places, granted American fast food places here in Japan have a Japanese touch to them, but why fly thousands of miles to eat a burger when the local food is cheaper and better and you get a real experience.  The best burger is Arby's and Carls Jr hands down

I would only do that to try something specifically Japanese, only offered on their menu.

OK, the Nazi Grammer Polizi has found me out.  :'(

Italian food in Japan was a joke.  French, eh...  The World Famous Chinese Restaurant in Mejirodai near the Keio Station was barely passable but the Japanese food was surprisingly good...
(By the way, that slogan used to wrap around the building in big letters...)

You just went to shitty places. :) I've had amazing Italian in Japan.

That never bothered me. It reminds me of copy coming off a teletype.

What is really getting on my nerves as of late is store signage in all lowercase letters. I like nice all block capital letters for this purpose. I blame the idiot trendy snowflake designers that don't read.

I'm not talking top chef stuff, it's more of the angle that, of the dozen or so "Italian" places, they were all indies moderately priced and they Japanized the cuisine.

Very true, the problem is that alot of foreigners think that they can come to Japan and open up a foreign restaurant.. you will find a for example an Italian restaurant run by Chinese here in Japan..the math does not work.  Remember this is the country that has 49 flavours of Kit Kats and eats Whale /
Dolphine meat

Some very delicious flavors of kitkat, might I add. Interesting potato chip flavors too. I really don't like the salty lemon that seems to be the favorite this summer.

Geez! I couldn't tie my shoe at 8yo!
Reincarnation?

At 5, my daughter could play ragtime pieces and had technical abilities that pro touring (and trained) pianists didn't have.  As she's aged, enthisiasm waned, distractions set in and she doesn't even know why she liked it...

I should note, she didn't practice hours a week.  5-10 minutes in the morning and 5-10 minutes in the evening...

Ah, I've had ketchup spaghetti at chains like the Ginza Lion, not something I'd seek out again, lol. Have had great Italian dishes in smaller, cheaper bistros in less traveled to prefectures though. Some of the best Indian food I've ever had too. The one thing I never encountered done well was a classic hot dog.

The Japanese touch to Italian food in Japan was to.make it like ramen...  Soupy.

Some would say that's poetic justice for what Marco Polo did.

That sounds like the Filipino Jollibee - maybe I'm wrong, Art would know.

I love the Japanese take on curry!

The restaurants that were most surprising in a bad way) were in Shinjuku and near the US Embassy + a couple of places I don't remember the name of.  Touristy areas.

People get into food for love seem to care for their cuisine and make conscious decisions in its preparation, I like those places 😊

And speaking of Fringe, here are screenshots from that site from earlier today, misspellings and all. Please don't answer this question, but honestly the thought that ran through my head when I saw this was "What are they thinking?" But then I realized that actual logical thinking isn't what's in play here...

Ok, I'm offline till late tonight or tomorrow.

So is there like a Heather for Dummies timeline somewhere that charts her course from her ascendency to her demise?

Hey everyone

So it seems I have Windows 10 Updates for all my nightmares. LOL

We are back up and running after a very expensive overhaul of the systems and updates on every driver I have and new equipment that is compatible.

Again, I appreciate your patience during this very irritating hiccup in the systems and look forward to getting back on tonight's show.

No tears, no finger pointing, just an a host unsure how to keep up with all of today's technology but quickly learning.

Tidepods my friends!

When life throws you curve balls, call out PLOT CHANGE and let the Shenannigans continue.

As a general rule, you always do the operating system updates prior to installing any other junk. On top of it, do not run any virus protection other than the native Microsoft stuff! (In fact, you could call Leo Laporte on The Tech Guy show share your problems and tell him who you are... A little shameless self-promotion.)

Something else that I find very useful, always go in and use your disk clean program and clean out your operating system crap. Every update creates many extraneous files that are no longer necessary but are there for protection. So, after an update, make sure everything runs and then go in and kill those extra junk files and logs to free up hard drive space. If you can use dual hard drives or more, that's always a plus... Having operating system hard drives program hard drives and data hard drives really can save a lot of grief in the future.

Love ya, Mr. Winnie, don't suck!

PS You have enough kids to hold the honorary title of Dave "Sperminator" Schrader.
