My dog died a couple years ago, too.  She was a rescue I had for 10 years and, no matter what I did, she was always nervous and insecure.  I had a dream a few weeks ago where we were going for a walk through a shockingly vivid flowery landscape and she was herself but warm and affectionate.

Sweet story. I also had a pet visit. The puppy I got when I was 7 and died when I was 18. Both my mom and I separately heard her collar and licenses making that specific jangling sound for one day. When I first heard it I mentioned it to my mom and she told me, "I'm so glad you said that because I've been hearing it all day." After we talked about it and found out we both heard it we never heard it again

After 3 of my cats had all died (each living over 17 years), my kids and I fostered 3 kittens...

One of the kitties did the exact same thing as one of my passed fur babies did when I first brought him home over 20 years previously...  He laid down on my pillow (the very same sobakawa pillow) on his back...  Same angle, same position...

We've figured out which cat is the previous cat, preferences and behaviors have carried over.
