wrong . I don't blame the woman ever. It's not the woman's fault when she isn't properly reined in. If you dont put women in their proper place, they always start drama and make trouble where none is. It's natural.

The part that is gnawing at me is how happy and relaxed he seemed recently, even given the ongoing "drama"

A couple of months ago he seemed a bit testy and pissed off.

I'm going to miss the hell out of listening to him.   And even Hoaxland.

How sad is it that the summer dress radio jingle lady from the night Hoagie jumped the shark is a nice, fond memory now....

bellNwhistle

Whose deep voice does the intro, the calll-in numbers, etc.. I'll miss that dude.

He will be on Dark City whenever Steve gets it ramped up again. If you haven't heard any dark City there a lot over on soundcloud.

HUGE spike in posts over the last day or so. MV said it rivaled the day Art bell came back on the air.

It's not quite as bad as when he quit XM/Sirius.

That was insane.  The thread was moving like a chat room.

There's a lot I've missed out on over the years, having pretty much only listened to re-runs of Art Bell while going to sleep..  I will have to check it out. Thanks!

wow. Well I'm clocking out for break. I need to go see the 3D people.  :D

I'm pissed.

I'm pissed because even though I saw this coming and was expecting another reason for Art to quit, I didn't think it would happen so soon.  I have to admit this whole "mystery man" excuse is a bit strange.  Is Art such a pussy he can't or won't either A. Hire someone to find out who the jack-tard is and either blast him with some rock-salt shotgun blasts to the knees, or B. Spend some time and track him down himself.  I'm tempted to believe he just got bored with the guests and just isn't into it anymore.  I must say I loved his shows back in the early 90's, and while he is always welcome to my speakers (he does have an awesome voice), I could sense he was bored.

Hopefully he'll be able to call in every once in a while to give us a taste of his pipes.

Hanging out in Iraq, it was nice to get back from "work" and stream my show for the day.  Now I'll have to depend on the archives...

Heather is good, but her voice bothers me.

Yep heather hosting the show ain't gonna cut it.   After all it's not the show it's the host .  We're here to listen to Art.

Yeah.. just another Art approved podcast now. Send in the clowns.

I have to disagree. Heather ISN'T good. I agree that her voice is irritating.
Maybe Art isn't so much bored as he is tired. He is 70 after all.

Bah! 70's the new 50. Haven't you heard?! Art seemed like he was in fine shape until all of this shooter stuff started going down. I must admit it's curious about the lack of police reports regarding this. If that's true I have a feeling that the conspiracy theories about Art looking for a way out may be accurate. Sometimes active minds just gotta keep on moving. I hope he makes his way back to our ears in his future journeys. Godspeed, Art!

She did ONE show. Give her at least a few weeks.

People are just looking for a reason to hate.

JSchool

Well fortunately we have Clyde Lewis.

Art could learn some lessons from Clyde.

That motherfucker gets cancer like twice a month and still puts on a show.

vansmythe

Is it possible that the intruder that Art saw near his house was actually a shadow person?
And the rifle shots were actually time traveler Brendan Tarpley being executed for being the lamest guest in  radio history surpassing even Ed Dames?
No wonder Art called it quits if they couldn't come up with guests any better than that fk twad on Friday there's no reason to continue.

When Ridley Scott was 77 years old, he made The Martian.

When Frank Lloyd Wright was 89 years old, he made The Guggenheim.

When Syd Mead was 79, he designed Elysium.  (When 81, he designed Tomorrowland).

Art's got that sore back, sure . . . but ageism is boring.  Back in the Dark Matter days he said on air he felt "23 or 24."

Obviously judging by https://www.facebook.com/jneilschulman , Neil/Neal, who also lives in Pahrump, is taking the threat seriously.  That doesn't mean he's checked it out, just that he's taking it prima facie as legit.

Bounder

"The Revolutionary Agorist Cadre"?  Beautiful nonsense.

Just Me

I think the Dark Journalist, Daniel Liszt should take the reigns of midnight in the desert. This guys totally cool and well informed on interviews. The only thing odd about the dark journalist is he never blinks.

The Front Sight Training Inst., as suggested by Neal/Neil, is about 5 mi. drive from Art's.

I'm a member there. They do a fine job instructing. I've taken several 2 and 4 day handgun classes.

Think they'd mind Art's antenna towers?

Well, he's acting like he's 12 or 13. The moment something goes wrong, he takes his ball and goes home. Life is a series of challenges. Either we face them head on and learn from them or they will beat us down.

Nye County Sheriff alerted me to this FB post they just put up...
Apologies if this is a duplicate of my previous.

Press Release

On 12/09/2015 at approximately 2006 NCSO Dispatch received a 911 call from the wife of Art Bell reporting that he was out walking on the property and he had called her from his cell phone to tell her someone had shot at him and then he stopped responding.
