Not surprised Art quit already. I'm actually surprised it lasted as long as it did. I don't have a firm opinion on Art's reasons for quitting, but I feel there is enough in his history to justify being sceptical.  Makes me sad.

I have no problem with Heather but I suscribed because I want to listen to Art Bell do a show & interview people.  There are literally dozens of shows covering similar topics that I do not subscribe to.  I'm just not that interested in the show with someone else as the host.  Nothing against her... It could be anybody filling in and I'd have the same opinion.

This is one hell of a Christmas gift to all the people managing MiTD. I sure hope Art gives everyone involved in MiTD show a severance package, help them get by until they can find a new job. Art has the balls to say if subscribers "stick with it", he might make a special appearances once in awhile. The subscribers, sponsors and affiliates will not stick around with some other than Art Bell at the helm.

There are many quality shows out there so why would I keep subscribing to this one?  The only reason I did in the first place was so I didn't have to stay up all night & listen live.

But I've been reading a lot of posts about the show doing badly, on the decline, not performing as well as Art had hoped etc.  I can't see how that could be accurate with all the radio affiliates he was picking up.

I don't hate Heather, but I could see myself getting angry with her, just because.
I couldn't help comparing what she said to the house fire caller to what Art would have said.

Arts thought processes are mature, when he says something it's not only spontaneous but also well thought through. That's his whole gift, thinking on his feet. Asking the intriguing questions, asking the questions you yourself want to ask a guest.

Of course that caller has probably not thought of much else other than changing what happened. Ob Vi Ous Ly.

Anyway, last nights show is censored, not sure if they happened live or the upload has been modified.

Why? After two years of waiting we get three months and he quits again. I understand he is worried about his family but take a break until things are figured out don't just quit the show. I never thought id say this but I am disappointed in Art

Keep saying that this is Art's MO, he feels he has had enough and quits without any regard to those that have worked so hard to get this thing off the ground. He doesn't care he only thinks of himself. And by the way if you listen to all his retirements they are all in a similar vein in that there is a threat to his family or his health - that way it makes it difficult for anyone to criticize him! Hell he done it enough times he know when something comes along that he can use as an excuse to just bugger off and leave everyone high and dry.

This fucking sucks!!! The show was just starting to grow, the fan base was excited, Art seemed into it, etc. Then the rug is just pulled. There has got to be a solution to the problem. I wish Art would have taken at least the weekend to try to sort things out.

They put a lot of time, effort and possibly money into this thing hoping that with Art back it would pay off for them. They should be compensated for all of that work but I bet they don't get a penny. Poor Keith, man do I feel sorry for him, I bet he feels double crossed. BTW those old CDs put together by Keith for one of Art's past retirements - well they are going in the garbage. Art Bell is selfish!

That's the risk they took.


I love my C2C/DM/DL/MITD shows, and got about 10 of my friends and acquaintances to join the time traveler feature, but I wouldn't give Art more than that despite his history.   The people that took a personal investment in his show all knew the risks involved, and no one is going to go bankrupt from it (dunno how much Keith has wrapped up in this but that's his business.).  That's the risk they took to get close to the "real" art bell.   Like I said before, never meet your heros.

That being said, I am super appreciative of the effort put in by members here to make MITD a reality, jaz, onan, heather, and any others I'm skipping.  I'm not belittling your efforts, rather saying the risks were known and unfortunately you'll suffer the dissappoiment harder than those not invested personally into the project.

I hardly think anyone doesn't have a day job in the MITD circle that didn't need one.
