Disabling BellGab's "Ignore User" Feature

I actually think you should have a thread with lists that gets generated automatically that shows who is ignoring who. You could publish a report on a weekly basis. It might help some PhD candidate develop a set theory of personal non-interactions of random societal disorders... Or something like that.

I am sure the answer is in the data.

no.  people routinely contact me to complain about the feature not working well.

Your screencap is how I've seen the ignore function work on the only board I've used it on -- a sports forum. There's some REAL assholes on that forum so I used it .. and you see that they made a post and have the choice to click to see their idiotic comment... and you also see what they said if somebody quotes the troll. That's likely how the ignore function works on all boards... but that's just a guess. I don't see how it could be done otherwise... but then I ain't no master coder like Keith.

And as a finale, banning will be banned.

All those who want to disable ignore BUT also continue to complain and report and want various perceived transgressors banned will have to reconcile their own individual hypocrisies as M VanDevil teaches a valuable lesson in forum management and group mind fuck dynamics.

I use ignore to block the Super Flashy animated gif's. If I don't ignore I can't read live threads. I live in the wilds of Mexico. No upgrades at my home would help.  Would I have another option?

If you're using firefox you can go to "about:config", search for "image.animation_mode", and change it from "normal" to "none".  (Unfortunately there is no firefox config for setting boorish people to "none".)
