I got a laugh when Art was chuckling about a message about "the host of another show."  I wonder if somebody wormholed Art, wondering why Noory hadn't called in on the devil line."

Haha I heard that too! That is what I took away from it...Also, Art was in a better mood and more upbeat last night! Next week for MITD is WEEK 6! I think if Art makes it past next week it will then officially be a longer show than DM! Group prayer and BRAAAPS energy into the group consciousness that we make it to week 7! Then we will be free! I've been waiting for Bill to call in and surprised he hasn't. The lifespan of a memorable caller is fascinating in that they all seem to burn out relatively quickly yet we remember them for some reason.

Just off the top of my head thinking of distinctive callers in the MITD Universe.

Charlie From Thailand - The Undisputed King

Michelle from Japan who may or may not have opened a young man's mind to liberal ideas.

The burnt out guy from Scotland who sounds like he's been gargling whiskey and molten lava since birth.

As much as I love Art's open lines, I think I like RCH's open lines better because he attracts crazier people. No one wants to troll or fuck with Art but RCH is the perfect magnet for it. Art's open lines is 75% fans who have nothing really to say. RCH's open lines is about 50-75% lunacy depending what hour he's in.

I do think this show was the best open lines yet. It certainly attracted a wide range of people. I think the DMRN format is absolutely perfect as it's accessible by so many more people than Sirius which is largely crap. I think these shows are just going to get better and better over time as more people tune in to Art.

The Scottish guy is my favorite because it is morning there so I imagine, from the sound of his voice, that he had been up all night swilling whiskey and smoking cigarettes and his accent is so thick.
I think, right now, much of the callers (and maybe listeners) are Bellgabbers or at least Art Bell fans. So they are so happy is back that their calls aren't as "crazy" as the old days. But I think as Art's popularity spreads, us fans are over the initial bliss of his return, and he gets new listeners the calls will get even better.

I'm amazed that people aren't on the bandwagon for Kurt/Curt, the guy who starts out like an easygoing Canadian or Minnesotan and winds up in a frothy rage. He was calling every show for a while.

I heard her unmistakable drawling voice speak on the PWtD line and I let out a sigh.  Art must not know of her regular presence on that other show, along with the aforementioned cast of that other show career talk show callers. I'd prefer for Art to remain as neutral and fair with his selection of callers as possible.  The predictable career callers are one of my biggest pet peeves about that other show. I typically hate hosts selecting favorites who typically tend to be notorious call screener and/or host ass kissers, which has been implicitly stated as not a requirement to be on MitD.  For every career caller talking several times a week it's one more person who must wait years to get on, if at all. Who cares about Bad Mustache losing his regular cast of career callers (as if they'd so quickly abandon their easy access for a stairway to radio celebrity fame). Their absence (or at least infrequent calls) on MitD would not be something to lament. Variety is the spice of life.

So she took a walk wen her dad was takin a nap, shez under 16. The search grid was expanded in a radius of 50milez. Dad was asleep mayb a hour😒 so y 50milez on a girl exploring hawaii cuz she just got here. they uzed heat seekerz in chopperz evrywer. 3 daze later they find her in some bushez way beyond wer she coud walk to, scared to death sayin over an over the orbz the orbz monsterz. Obviously in shock. Really late to the table here but wanted to say this was the most fun open lines yet. I listened coming home from a ghost hunt in Gettysburg (I don't think there are any ghosts willing to talk to me, I am skeptical about it all but that's a whole other story), but the devil line ended the mighty night perfectly.
