I doubt it. I think Art has holds on mute.
then it isn't necessary to mute your own mic on Skype then it would seem.

No shit, I was actually thinking the only element missing in a perfect conspiracy theory story was inclusion of a Special Ops unit.  Then, Seal Team Six makes an appearance.  Well done!

Yeah, now we're getting some meat. Boeing may have officially agreed with NTSB, but some of the engineers did not.

aldousburbank

Pilot dude makes excellent point. Airliner tanks don't just blow.

Were you listening to the show via skype or via a separate feed that is delayed?
Could Art send a text message via skype to the caller he has selected?

I was listening on Skype and had muted the Tune-In audio.  I'm pretty sure the text massaging screen is not available when your call is answered, so that would not work.  It would also be a pain for him.  He needs the same button that places you on the air to generate some other signal to indicate you are on the air.

Imagine you are listening to the show as you are now and then he starts talking to you.  It sounds exactly the same as when you were not on the air.  Even if he gets the name right you very well could be confused for a moment.  At least I turned off my Tune-In app long before he answered. You hear him on Skype just like it sounds on Tune-In. There is no reason to keep Tune-In on.  I never realized how our brains are used to a queue of some kind in a situation like that.  It was my first time calling into a radio show via Skype. I'm sure I/we could get used to it.

I was chuckling when listening back to Art saying my name the first time.  "Ah - hoonah"

Thank you Art for another great show.  Goodnight Art.  Goodnight everyone. :D

Yeah, dolphins and engineers, same difference, totally untrustworthy.

Dammit!

A day late and a dollar short...

What'd I miss?

Oh.  Read the thread...

Love the closing bumper.

You missed a really good show about TWA 800.  Full of intrigue and indictments.

Good show. I'm not satisfied by the claims of the guest, but I was glued. That's all I can ever ask from Art. Compelling radio tonight.

Something about the principles of the turbine engine causes me to agree with the statement.

Something about:  Suck, Squeeze, ... & Blow...

I think it was five steps to the true trubine engine.

Great article, WC. Now it makes Sanders anger understandable.

I guess the thing to do for Skype is make sure you use a skype name that is easy to read for Art!

what are you hearing on Skype while you are on hold?
i thought without a screener there would be no "hold" just picks up immediately when he connects to a caller?

As soon as the Skype call is answered you hear the LIVE show, with no delay.  It sounds just like Tune-In, but it's not delayed. When he "picks-up" or puts you on the air you hear absolutely no difference on Skype. There was a few minutes after the call was answered untill he put me on the air. I don't see why anyone on Skype would have their radio or Tune-In app on.

I've known this was happening for 35 years.  When people say there is no way the media would be complicit in hiding the truth about things like the false Obama birth certificate or 9/11 I just cringe.  it's so sad that people have so much faith in an absolutely corrupted system.  Our government and media are one and the same animal.

I don't know what to believe.  I'd rather have an opinion than not but it's so confusing and difficult to sort the fact from bullshit with the TWA 800 thing.
