I think anything below 20 deg F should be illegal.
I'm sure there is a committee discussing this, somewhere, I think? ???

Nah, like extreme desert heat, it makes one feel alive. And encourages whiskey, vodka, brandy or pick your poison. Interestingly I've heard "old wives tales" both about extreme heat, and cold, from people for drinking over the world. (It helps one 'sweat' which beats the heat, and it helps one 'take the chill out' which beats the cold.) Wise advice? I don't know, likely not according to "doctors", but at least a body thinks it does- before succumbing to hyper/hypo-thermia! I trust dogs over doctors, and they always delivered a cask of brandy to hikers lost in a blizzard.

Dogs deliver brandy now? ? ?  Cool!  Any shipping and handling charges?

You can even buy replica kegs for your dogs, if so inclined to duplicate the legend/truth, depending on one's view.

ps: the famous artist Landseer (lions in Traflagar Square, famous paintings, went nuts) did a famous painting of a stray dog found after a shipwreck (now bears the breed name for Landseer) who subsequently rescued many people, in exchange for free food.

I once stayed at a place where it was minus 40...no heat.  Not pleasant.  The adjective does start with an F....not quite the same though.

In 1977 I was a bobsledder. For a week straight the high during the day was -40 before the windchill. We had to take 4 practice runs per day.  We flew to St. Moritz Switserland, and when we got there, the temp was 32F. I was walking around in a t-shirt because it was sunny and 72 degrees warmer than where I had just been. You can get used to a lot of things, but you can never get used to -40.

Truer words have not been spoken.  It is not fun.  Rabbit fur helps but it is not enough.  :)  That must have been brutal GS.  You must have been very passionate about bobsledding. My hat goes off to you.

I couldn't kill a fly Starr.  The hat was a gift to me.  Seriously, I once kept a fly as a pet.  But...I will stop there.  Sort of going Kafka after that.

Well My server had the audacity to say it was old and thus decided it was gong to fail in true computer fashion, quietly and when it thought I wouldnt see it. Soooooo the blog and radio will be off the air until i get to best buy tomorrow. And for a couple of hours thereafter. Damn it! Funny thing. I booted with my rescue disk, checked the disks and it actually said "old age" as the drive failure reason. Lol
Life goes on.

Did you know you can bring drowned flies back to life by covering them with salt?  After awhile, they start twitching and eventually they just get up and fly away. When we were kids we didn't have video games, but we had a small pool. I don't know who was the genius in the neighborhood that figured out you could do it, but it was cool. Well, kinda cool.

And if you don't believe me, go do you own googling. It is a thing.

Speaking of flies and salt....anyone else bought that Bug-A-Salt gun? It works and is great fun. Though closer range than I would've hope is needed and won't work on harder bugs like various wasps etc (warning, pissed off wasp.)  Also, if used indoors, you might need to wipe up some salt. Also, if shot at you at a close range, you will get an odd "peppered" like pseudo-bruise on your skin for a bit and stings, a bit. Come on, what redneck or kid (or kid at heart) isn't going to try it out on self and each other? I've also been thinking about use in margaritas, tequila shots, cooking etc where salt is used but, so far, haven't as the outdoor cooking season is over.

I don't need anymore calibers. Might have to stock up on some 12 gauge rounds though.

I saw Cabelas had a cases of some Italian mfg 00-buck for sub-$50/case of 100 with dry-storage box included (not real ammo case; plastic one.) Don't use on flies but for some other pests that might be coming up?  ;) Also, latest gimmick, was some 'reality tv' show based .22 ammo for gator killing (once caught?) like all other rimfire limited to 2 boxes per customer (and not even full brick of .22 but now only 300rds in a 'brick'?)

Hi friends, just woke up a bit ago from snoring.  I had my alarm set but must have kept punching the snooze button, till it ceased to ring anymore.  Sorry I missed listening to TheMudKing and eddie-dean, always enjoy listening to them, but alas, there is football tomorrow :D  I am listening to the live EndOfDaysRadio right now, and at the chat with a few people there.  They're guest is talking about greys and reptillians.  The chat and listen live button is here if you feel like listening:

you should post that in the guns, guns, guns thread.  There are women and Canadians (and some Canadian women) that hang out here.

one can have fun with them, though I hesitate to speculate on what type of 'salts' might be administered from same in your compound or at various desert festivals!  ;)
ps: to others, who apparently are wilting violets and need some smelling salts (maybe from same contraption)  ;) but I know many a women who packs heat and, according to some stats, the CCL and sales increase is more in that market? But no offense for bringing up gun stuff in this thread- real or salt-based.
