Institutional Racism?

Driving around my old city today, caught a news report on the radio. A lady representing the local government came on to discuss a new juvenile detention center. Said she thinks its a realistic goal to have no juveniles imprisoned soon and says she thinks the only reason so many juveniles are imprisoned in this country is because of institutional racism. I can be pretty leftist but I literally laughed out loud at at this.

So kids beat, rape, steal and kill because the government doesn't like minorities? How racist is that to assume that all young criminals are minorities?

What are these people talking about? This wave of liberalism is coining all these buzz phrases that just instantly get accepted as fact. Institutional Racism, White Privilege, Vagina Tax which are all weirdly racist and sexist in themselves and have as much credibility as creationism.  Its also an exact fuckin' copy of everything that was evil about the conservatives at the height of the Bush Administration. Job Creator, Liberal Media, Family Values.

I shake my head when one particular incident/situation becomes "the norm" experience. Being a victim is the new black. The constant lobbying for whom is the greater victim has a name. It's called the oppression olympics.

To be sure these no longer are allowed, so de jure institutional racism no longer exists, but de facto it obviously still does.


African Americans are far more likely to be arrested by police even though they likely commit crimes in no greater numbers than non blacks, they are far more likely to be subjected to frisking and carding, there are still many segregated cities (not that the government causes that) that often have the worst schools and they usually have the longest voting lines.


The people in government behind these things may no longer be overtly racist as those in government had been in the past, but there is no question there is, at the very minimum, an attitude of not caring among many public officials when it comes to blacks.

You're not wrong about anything you're saying at all. Racism has been a plague upon this nation since its inception. The thoughts posed by Stokey Carmichael, Malcolm X and other prominent black thinkers about society and its inequality were largely correct. I say that because Stokey Carmichael coined the thought and term of institutional racism in an era where most of this thinking originated.

My problem is these liberal philosophies and beliefs are being implemented by guilty white people to such an insane extent that utter idiocy is reigning. I'm sorry but when a kid shoots another kid, I don't want that kid around me regardless of his race. If a kid is caught selling soul destroying drugs like heroin or meth to other kids, I don't want that kid about me. I don't think counseling and being in a hug box is going to keep the 1-5% of society that is inherently violent or criminally mentally ill from hurting other people. While all this stupidity is happening, no one is address real problems like this country being 26th in education or getting ass kicked economically?

Racism is obviously an inherently bad thing but its being used as a racket much more than not today. This is also the right wing's fault since they murdered the middle class under Bush which radicalized large segments of white people.

I wonder why majority black cities, even majority black countries, are such a mess? Surely the ones with less whites in them should be the apex of order, civilization, and economic performance?

Nope. It is the white people's fault- that is obvious. Because no other races, ethnic groups, religions, cities, countries, or regions have ever experienced slavery, war, famine, oppression, ethnic tension, religious conflict, legal persecution, or colonialism. Certainly European (or even "white" people in North America) have never experienced things such as wars, ethnic strife, slavery, indentured servitude, serfdom, religious conflicts, colonialism, civil wars, deprivations, famine, etc. Oh wait.....

As Norry might say "sumetheens going on here" and maybe certain people should stop looking for "whitey" as the excuse for all their problems. Certainly with, thus far, freedom of movement they could always start a new "back to Africa" movement and move there to experience the freedom and fun that is Zimbabwe, one of the popular central African countries, or even Liberia (where we tried to give them a new place for freedom) if the USA or European countries are so bad due to those evil whites and their dastardly Western Civilization.

Unfortunately African-American's DO commit more crimes on average. Especially in metro area's.  Pretending that they don't doesn't help anyone. Identifying the root cause is the most important priority. "Because racism", isn't the reason.

So will Obama or other malcontents call for a ban google? If you recall there also were several hilarious, but racist, search results for Obama and his wife Michelle a while back. But since they give tons of money to him and his campaign they can get away with things like automatically describing pictures of blacks "gorillas?" Where is the protesting? Where is the burning and looting of Google headquarters? Where are the attacks on Google street-view cars by "youths" and "gentle giants?" Where is Obama and other racial activists speaking out against such things and trying to raise a riot?
