In fairness to Hoagie, the 747 was one of the most comprehensively tested aeroplanes when it was first designed and the prototype built. It had its tail dragged down the runway at Seattle by the test pilot and still took off. YT has the video I think..It is a very safe aircraft.

we downed an Iranian airliner the same way, and thats what i called hoagie a dumb ass for , the 747 comment

If you take total flying hours with the type and its accident/loss statistics, it probably is the safest aeroplane made. I'd need to check on the relevant FAA/CAA site.
