Tens of hundreds of Sith Sorcerers were ultimately destroyed throughout the millennium trying to glean the secrets of creating that crystal. It was created with dark magics lost in the mists of time. Naga Sadow created the first crystal after 300 years of research and experimentation. He made only one and it was destroyed with him. With the death of Darth Sidious, I aquired Naga's holocron and used its knowledge to create three more, one of which The Empress now has in her possession. (Happy early Birthday )
That is no ordinary crystal powering her lightsaber. See how it flickers ? The crystal is highly unstable and hence, powerful beyond imagining. It force binds with the user and adapts to their will. Any Jedi that tries to use it will suffer a force mind shred as the crystal was created with Sith Sorcery. In fact it can cut Mandalorian Iron - and ultrachrome, songsteel, Phrik, and Cortosis don't stand a chance against it.
