Nobody. That woman has a very serious disease.

I am sorry to say it was not a disease that was responsible for making that poor woman's face that way.  It was not overeating, either.

This is lower than MV's bevy of uglies. I'm mostly appalled but slightly impressed

If you politely insist, I can post a link that tells the entire sordid story of how that woman's face got to be that way.

However, I think it only fair to warn you that you will be entirely appalled by the tale, in which the hand of Mother Nature plays no role whatever.  Also, if you happen to be suffering from a lack of faith in mankind at the moment, the story will not help to restore your faith (quite the opposite, I am afraid).

Of course, should you decline the offer, I will understand completely. [tips hat]

LOL at Hoagland and last nights show.

Funny to hear Hoagland interview someone crazier than himself and insist on "evidence".

So far, Hoagland has produced NO evidence other than "I think I see remnants of a nuclear power plant" on Mars in three pixels.

BTW, wtf is with this "Michelle" from Japan?

You know how it is best to draw a polite veil over some people?  Michelle is one of those people.

I admit to being curious but I will heed your warning. There is plenty enough ugly on Bellgab to keep me entertained

Well, she is his producer, after all.  She has to make it sound as though Hoagland just rocked Madison Square Garden, even when the show subtracted from the sum total of human knowledge (as it usually does).

haha I never thought of it that way, but yeah this show is like information anti-matter.

So nutty how he claims "I'm an evidence guy!" and "You've been talking for two hours but haven't shown any data!".  I don't think he has a clue how actual science works.

He demands 'data' for things that are wholly subjective like paranormal accounts or consciousness or interpretations of history ... but then for actual hard topics like astronomy and physics he assumes things are 'data' if they feel right, seem right, and fit within his vague, non peer-reviewed, untestable, pseudo-science 'model'.

I actually cried the first time I saw this avatar.  It looks as though it is a failed surgery.  But if one looks closely, one can see the courage and determination, in this woman's face, to press on with life, and deal with those that do not have the courage, or honor, that I'm guessing she has, in spades.

I, in particular, find that funny.  You'll have to ask around.  It's a little embarrassing for me. :-X

Thank you very much for posting that clip; I am grateful for a second chance to listen to that audio.

I am also guessing that anyone who missed it last night would not believe what happened unless they heard it firsthand for themselves. :)

Many thanks; it's no wonder he acts the way he does with those plaudits echoing in his ears every night.

I mean this is the best thread on Bellgab. I do a pretty good job of keeping it Nazi/Racist free. It's hard, and a few conservatives still slip through the cracks, but it's still a good time despite their idiocy! :)

It makes me sad too.

It's of course part of the necessary balance without which the universe would implode.

I was riveted, and now believe it was staged.

I cannot say for certain, but I will throw out a hypothesis of what I think might have happened last night.

Longtime listeners will recall Hoagland complaining on-air that he has difficulty seeing the clock in his home that allows him to keep track of his airtime.  He made noises about moving it so it would be easier to see, but knowing Hoagland's careless, slipshod ways (and all of the "stunning" scientific papers he is no doubt in the process of writing), I suspect that he has never actually gotten round to doing so.  ::)

My guess is that due to his difficulty in seeing his clock, he called a premature end to the show because, according to my own clock, the ending music played right on time; it was only Hoagland who was out of sync.  Of course, that is just one possible explanation and perhaps it is not a very satisfactory one. :)

Regardless of how it actually happened, we can only hope that it happens again....and again.  I would like to think that Hoagland is well on his way to making a name for himself as a chat show host...except that it will be the sort of name that is only discusssed in tones of scorn and derision. ;)

Probably had/has body dysmorphic disorder. Doesn't make her any less of an idiot for putting that in her face, though.
