Guest is already confused by Hoagie

Pinchbeck got into a big fight with Whitley Strieber a few years ago on the air. It had to do with pessimism vs. optimism. Anybody remember it?

I was hearing a ghostly whisper voice in the background on Hoagie's broadcast a moment ago...

I heard whispering, bird sounds, and gurgling.
Not that I'm complaining.

the guest seems all WTF at hoagies rant

omg Hoagie is already hosing this up.  And he had the whole weekend after the cancelled show to do some homework.  Sigh, this could go south quickly.  He's giving zero perspective on where this guest is coming from.  Lame.

I don't recall that, was Pinchbeck a guest on Whitley's Dreamland podcast a few years back?
Sounds interesting though - who was on the side of pessimism and who for optimism in that argument?

Dammit, does Hoagie have no idea of this guy's work?  What the frig is he talking about lame politics like he's chatting at the diner with some random goof.

I think it was Whitley's show, and I believe Pinchbeck was the optimist, accusing Strieber of going the fear porn route. Whitley brought the fight up more than once after that.

I missed that, but I remember him from about a decade ago on with Ian P., a fascinating exploration of psychology, psychedelics, and mythology.   So far Hoagie's completely squandering him a la the James Burke show.

Brexit seems to be a continuation of worldwide local outbreaks of rebellion against authority, that started with the Arab Spring?

Ah, perhaps due to Whitley's warnings of dire possible futures like the Global Superstorm?

Actually he's okay now. Although Hoagland is really leading him and being a bit disrespectful with his language fetish.

Yeah. As a younger guy, Pinchbeck wasn't appreciating an it's-all-over approach.

I thought Hoagie would report on this latest NASA news tonight:

NASA wants to use the Curiosity rover to sample the water on Mars

Brexit!  He's rambing about friggin Brexit!  God you suck Hoagie.  Do you homework and stop with the lame political filler.  Ugh this is a total waste so far.

How the hell is Hoagland in a relationship with Robin? Their opinions are so far apart lol
