Can anyone provide a clip of the first part of last night's show? That was a keeper  ::) Thanks much
How much of the first part?  I'm processing my recorded audio now.

Up until he started on Pluto. Just the first 30 minutes or so.
That would be great. Thank you astro

Looks like they started around 18 minutes in.  Based on a 10-second gap in audio at 18:55-19:05.  I'll clip it a bit before that.

The file is slightly too big to post here, so we'll go here:  http://www.sjrdesign.net/H0ag/TOSM_20151212_IntroMonologue.mp3

Wow. That was somewhere between comedy gold and the most uncomfortable PBS telethon ever.

RCH was never Art, but for the 1st few months I did find him entertaining. The last few weeks have been quite a joke though.

I think DMN can survive without Art. It did for about 2 years.

Plot twist: Hoagland's stalker is also Art's stalker.

True but with the promise of having Art on it. Bell was the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hoagie still wants that third hour, as he has from the beginning.  Unfortunately, his 'long-form' performance can't fill two.

Come what may, that show where he wooed the 12-steps, Toyota of Culver City singer/chick secured his place among the anals of pseudo-radio history.

Hoagland is most upset, because he's the self-supposing smartest man on Earth, and now he may not have the daily chance to make an ass of himself. His constant cutting the guest off, and the incessant need to lead the conversation zap brain cells almost as fast as Jorch.

Just heard the piece where he claimed two major hosts have been threatened. I know Art was, but who was the second? Michael Vera? lol

This is the best thing that could've happened to RCH. His show was failing badly and now the show ending technically is not his fault.

Boom. Yep. And he can claim in other future shows as guest about a conspiracy that silenced him (and Art and add Art into his list of name-dropping for decades.)

Though a bit sad, I actually enjoyed (and was surprised by) his shows at the beginning when he was in Cavett-mode and had a good producer.

Initially this was my thought too. I'm not so sure now -- his plea for the 9 - 12 PST slot sounded genuine enough. It could be that he thinks all his problems arise from the difficulty of booking decent guests at the insane time of 12 - 2 (3 -5 EST).

The insane time is an issue that would be fixed with the time change.  It doesn't address the issue of the insane host though.

Richard himself.  He's convinced the CIA has it in for him and was responsible for all technical glitches, phone calls being cut off and what not.

So, RCH works for the CIA then? Because he always seems to be the source of the "glitches."

I think he'll be composing contrite e mails and similar rehearsed phone calls to Noory to get his old slot as (cough) science advisor. If he does, Noory can bounce him around like a ball on a string, and have his moments of fun.

Oh my God.  That makes Georgie 'Moe Green' and RCh is Fredo.

Yeah.

I can see that.

Hah.

Except Coast wasn't some desert stopover for GIs coming home from the war.  Moe Noory took a metropolis and turned it into a ghost town.

Obviously not; He has a show that has sponsorship. Equals revenue, equals audience. However, I'm not in that audience, but some clearly are.

'Ghost town' was hyperbole, though not by much.  The audience count has declined substantially over the years, as all know.  And audience leads to revenue which may lead to profit, not the reverse.

Quite so!  :)  But ultimately, he has the show.

Well hoaglands fucked, rowland posted this

As for Richard C Hoagland’s OSOM program,  again, it’s all about finances. RCH and I need to re-evaluate our financial model and hope to come to some resolution to continue running his show on DMDN. Stay tuned for updates on this matter. He could be back on Monday night! You can still show your support by Joining Club 19.5."

RCH gave up long ago. At 1st his show was quirky, then it just got old.

There was more to Rowland's statement.

Quote from:  Keith Rowland"As hard as I tried, with over two years in building the network, none of the other programs I carried were able to earn any advertising dollars to support the cost of playing the shows, let alone justify my time in producing the shows live. I had to be present in the studio during all live shows in order to connect and bring them on, monitor the sound, play the breaks, record the show and edit the replay audio files. This time took away from my day and had no financial benefit. But I did it because Art’s show was subsidizing the cost. With the leaving of Art Bell, it doesn’t seem financially viable to continue spending hours a day doing this. So I regret to not being able to produce LIVE versions of these programs after this week."

So yeah, Hoagland's fucked, at least in the current format.
