Here's a possible scenario, just for fun. He "takes a break" for Thanksgiving, saying "nobody will be listening anyway -- I'll be back the night of Monday 30th". Then he just never returns. No explanation, no apology. Then it leaks out that Mmmkay quit the day before Thanksgiving.

I think at this point if he started parting his hair on the other side it'd attract more attention here than anything he might see on Mars.
