for some reason my virus program thinks my dll file in my paint shop pro is a Trojan...it isn't, but it now has deleted the dll file. such a bother...wish I had a better program, can't afford one though.

Gimp is cross platform, similar to Photoshop, works on Windows and Linux..and its free

It is a completely free alternative to photoshop and is much better than paint shop pro you mentioned as well.

I never used Gimp in Windows but i hear it works fine, i have a friend that uses it on a Mac and he loves it, i use the Linux version, best free software on the net imho

That sucks Goatnuts... Dynamic Link Libraries are needed to run the program. Any way to white-list it in the virus scanner? Then reload it from another computer running the program. Pain I.T.A though.
