Hey braapers. Haven't been around tonight because I'm prepping for tomorrow's show. This entire week has been shaken up. Stirred and changed so many times. I'm not even sure what day it is.

But Art suggested we contact the guest we will be having on tomorrow and we have to thank him because I am so excited for this show. My suggestion, watch the popes address to the joint session tomorrow at some point before listening to our show.

When someone suggested that perhaps a vermit gnawed the wires Art said the following:

From the Las Vegas Sun:

Fiber optic cable damage is to blame for phone, Internet and TV disruptions to the northwest valley and a telephone outage in Pahrump, according to communications company CenturyLink.

In an emailed statement, CenturyLink said a third-party construction crew cut into a fiber optic cable, causing a disruption to 911, phone, Internet and Prism TV services in northwest Las Vegas and Mount Charleston.

CenturyLink spokeswoman Lindsay Williams said the same incident led to other companies' telephone service disruptions in Pahrump.

“The outage is in fact related to our outage in the northwest,” Williams said.

The company had previously indicated that the two events were unrelated.

AT&T representative Scott Huscher said the incident caused disruptions to the organization's services in Pahrump.

“Due to another company’s fiber cut, some AT&T customers in the Pahrump area may be experiencing issues with their wireless and wireline service,” according to a statement from AT&T. “As the other company works to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, we apologize for this inconvenience to AT&T customers.”

Jenny Weaver, public relations manager for Verizon Wireless in the southwest, said the company’s service was down as the result of a fiber optic cable being damaged in a construction incident. She could not confirm that it was the same incident.

It is unclear how many companies were affected by the damage.

According to Williams, all CenturyLink services were restored as of 9:40 p.m.
