The Other Side of Midnight - Richard C. Hoagland - Live Chat Thread

Ostrich Thief is always asking for ideas for questions. Here's one:

As part of your statistical analysis of the orbit of Comet Elenin, you stated that the odds of a comet having a given inclination are 1 in 360 divided by the inclination. If this is true, what are the odds of an inclination of zero? What about an inclination of 360? By your idea, the odds of that should be 1 in 1, that's a certainty. Is there something wrong with your idea Richard?

Richard needs to lay off the Old Milwaukee before the show, he's slurring.

Was he still hitting the cough button last night.  It seems Robin's potion hasn't cured his hack.

You're welcome...thanks to all for following my progress. I've always enjoyed this forum when I get a chance to stop by. Snarkiness and I get along pretty well. Until next time...

Haha you're a good sport Dave, glad you dropped by.  Fun show last nite.  Good luck with the project.

Oh Memory Lane!  That should be awesome.  I hope he works out some tangential connection to play the old Tonight Show theme; can't see all those names without thinking of it.

Someone asked me to find out so I asked who would be on at the end of the show last night.   He has someone big in the books for next week.  I hope it's Gary Johnson or Trump

I dig the nostalgic shows.  :D   The Dick Bertel interview is still one of my favorites.

No.

Then what the heck is with this quote from the show's bio?  " The world changed on August 25th, 2016."  How so? Perhaps a new discovery? A push in the right direction?  Essentially, did anybody learn anything new?  ;D

OstrichThief

The larger version worked 100 times better as planned

Someone has dumped all the August shows on to the interweb torrent sites. Not me, likely Julian Assange or Snowden. But any particular shows that are memorable that someone should check out?

ShayP

Trying to score some tix to see KISS tomorrow night.  Wish me luck.

...and yes, I'm serious.  LOL!

Hopefully via a call in contest on the local radio station's morning zoo show. Kidding. Good luck. I got Slayer/Anthrax next month.

There are still general admission seats, etc.  40 bucks.  The price you mentioned is for the floor and the lower levels.   ;)  My buddy is working on it.  I'm broke but trying to make a deal.  You know how this shit goes mang!  ;D  Actually I could buy a gm ticket but these guys have different ones.  I'm not hanging by myself.  LOL!

Thanks.  8)  If I could get to Pittsburgh I could see Slayer on the 15th.  My friends up there go to shows all the time and invite me.  Best part is I rarely have to pay for the ticket.  Nonetheless, It's just too much trouble (and $$$) to make the 380 mile drive.  :-\
