She really isn't nuts lol she's super intelligent, her father was one of the founders of NATO.

Forgive me, I did not mean to be unkind.  She is way smart.  I meant that she has some wild theories that rival Hoagie's.  Would love to hear her again.  Great guest and show!

What a cocktail party those two would make!

The Cydonia rubbish always amuses me. Astrostu shows us why it's utter bollocks.

Neither will Mad Max: Fury Road. It's all about what the system wishes to give awards to, not who deserves them.

I thought it was about the judges wanting to appear sophisticated.

It's not even that. I'm a "member of the academy" so to speak for a science fiction award, and it's more about publishing politics than it is an honest vote on the best work for the year. As a result, the two most important science fiction works of the last decade, Hugh Howey's "Wool" and "The Martian" by Andy Weir slipped under the awards radar despite being 10 times better than the winners for those years. It works the same way in the film industry, though they do sometimes still pick really good movies for awards.

Those both fall firmly in Margaret Atwood's "all American fiction is about survival" generalization.

I love that generalization. It's closer to being true than it is to being false.

We have a MAJOR guest for Thursday night/Friday mornings show.

I really want to announce it but it's best to just say, I am very excited.

expat

I guessed - Richard Dolan.

....who, btw, posted today that he had two things to celebrate: 1) His daughter was talking to him again after years of estrangement, and 2) he succeeded in doing a handstand during a yoga class.

Well done RD.

Seriously, it's time Dolan was on, to tell Hoagland how way-over-the-top he went with Comet Elenin. Then we'll hear Hoagland say, as he did to a caller on C2C-AM, 2 April 2012:  "I never said it was a spaceship. I said it could be a time capsule. It could be a probe. It could be a chunk of rock directed on an intelligent course. I never said it was a spaceship."

Check his three-hour speech at the Awake & Aware conference in 2011 (Youtube video no longer up):

PLEASE NOTE:
"Elenin is NOT a comet." Part 1, 04:15
"Something is active on board."  Part 5, 07:50
"So we've got a spacecraft of some kind, flying in an orbit of some kind..." Part 5, 09:52

I have been remote viewing since your announcement and I have concluded that it must either be the Pope or Hulk Hogan.

Rossy, is OSOM part of this XDS technology with the same ability and access to radio stations that MITD does?

Also, what is being done to market this show? Is there a YT channel coming so we can spread the word in a meaningful way?

I made it all up. In truth, all I saw was Dave's plan to take C2C in a new direction by becoming the first radio host to interview a mime.

Here's what I can say about terrestrial radio affiliates.

We are being added to stations currently. We are a brand new show, and all of this takes time but things are going great. But we are on a, little bit of a different timeline as far as all of this goes. Once goals are reached, which will be soon there will be lots of cool stuff happening.

Secondly, lots of marketing stuff coming up soon and we will be asking for a major push when that comes but right now the best way to help OSOM is to help MiTD's current campaign. Anything that is good for Art is good for our show. It all feeds each other, so please help with that campaign and when our campaign is ready I will fill all of you in and we will make it so.

And yes we have a YouTube channel, launched it last week and have posted it here multiple times Will Farrar helped turn this episode into a full movie! Will be posting lots of cool new videos on our channel soon. So go watch, share, and subscribe please!

Also, we are hyper active on Facebook right now, posting lots of cool stories and info that if you pay attention give big hints on what's coming up on the show.

More importantly, Ross....are you all having fun! It sure sounds like it!  :D I'm so happy for you and RCH and everyone involved! Great job!

Freyja

Thanks Rossy....as I slap myself with a huge dead fish about asking you about the YT channel when I have seen you posting these....d'oh...

But, all you have up there is the Pluto special. Great show however it doesn't capture all of the magic that RCH and OSOM brings.

Please consider adding a few more full shows and clips that can be shared to garner interest, the feel of the show etc.

OSOM is da bomb...I will do everything I can to promote it. I'm loving the show.

Kudos to both you and RCH for bringing this gem to us!! :) ...and Art too of course for making it happen from the get go.

I have to hand it to you Ross.  It must be difficult getting guests for an internet radio show that no one has ever heard of, and you get some good ones.

Hear, hear. Last night's guest, Georgia Lambert was fascinating. I had never heard of her, but she had some very interesting ideas and insights into ancient cultures. Hoagie has an amazing rapport with all of his guests and gives the impression that he has been friends with them for ages and these are two friends having an intelligent conversation. I like Ms. Lambert's elucidating where news comes from- the four directions, North, East, West, South. Brilliant.

You hit the nail on the head. Richard is a gifted communicator and the shows comes across as conversations rather than interviews and that style seems to make the guests comfortable and more open. I noticed it strongly with the Tim Wallace-Murphy interview where the guest was clearly enjoying the conversation and the Tim Russ interview where Tim's passion for filmmaking came through loud and clear because of the way Richard was engaging him. I also must echo the sentiment that Ross is really getting some terrific and varied guests, I've never heard of many of them before and I've been listening to alternative radio for over 20 years.

Last night's show was epic. I loved RCH's theory of Sen. Strom Thurmond surviving so long was due to the torsion field amplification due to the esoteric buildings/location of Washington, DC (19.5x2) and this explain why he died as soon as he quit and left DC. He mentioned he has never measured in DC. He needs to go and do a remote and live Youtube or Periscopes. Can you imagine RCH monitoring torsion field changes on the Accutron system system at various DC locations.....you think the Muslim kid with the "clock" got some law enforcement attention!? Can't you see RCH wandering around the White House, the various memorials, and saying to the police "hold on, hold on, I'm taking measurements in the torsion field" and being carted off saying "its in the model, don't you understand physics!?"  ;) I love OSOM and RCH.

Great job SaucyRossy and all! Love it. RCH has great rapport with the guests and is funny and fun. And lots of knowledge on many subjects. Keep up the good work.

"The Martian" by Andy Weir slipped under the awards radar

This post almost slipped under MY radar.....just curious how many of you are going to go see The Martian on opening night Friday October 2nd, then come home and listen to Other Side of Midnight?

That's MY PLANS for that night.

We're probably going to. I have the world's most awesome theater here, they built it basically by mistake in a hard to access area so it's always virtually deserted. We were the only two people in the theater for Interstellar on opening night.

I just listened a bit of Clyde Lewis right now and it struck me that RCH is like the anti-thesis to the "doom and gloomers" with regard to esoterica, aliens, UFOs, symbology, and even political conspiracy. But not as trippy-dipping, new-agey as some of the other people who discuss this stuff. And even allows guests to disagree with him on some things or at least let them talk a bit. It is refreshing to hear the theories (Masonic stuff, ancient religious symbolism through the ages, etc.) I don't know, just a thought. Normally when that kind of stuff is talked about it is almost entirely negative ("they" are coming to get us, devils are coming back, the secret NAZIs control it, etc) or too positively, naively "new age of Aquarius" and "star children" to lead us with the "indingo children" into some Atlantian paradise. Clearly RCH is well-versed in this stuff but handles it more positively (and with, per the model, with the proper "spin"  ;) )

I hadn't thought of that, but I'll bet I know why. There is a serious issue within science fiction where after the year 2000 the themes went almost universally negative. The old positivist vision of the future was supplanted with negative themes like the Earth going through some cataclysm or extreme climate change or an apocalypse of some type or another. Richard's sci fi interests predate that, he buys into the positivist vision of Star Trek and Arthur Clarke and the like. That carries over into his views on esoteric things I think.
