Sad part is he had no show for 8 months of that time, so essentially it's 3 producers in 1 year and 4 months.    Hoagie really must be a bastard behind the scenes. lol

While SR was classy and didn't really say much, I think it was pretty clear that Hoaggie is a complete bastard when nobody is watching.

You haven't lived until you've heard a twonk like Hoagland attempt to upstage James Burke, one of the world's most charming, articulate, and well-informed men (as the millions of books he has sold and TV programmes he has hosted over the course of decades will attest).  Talk about acting like a bastard, James Burke has forgotten more than Hoagland has ever known, yet Hoagland's treatment of him on-air was perfectly shameful. 

(Fortunately, it was a simple matter of the unflappable James Burke encountering the unspeakable Richard Hoagland and Burke could not help but triumph.)

I have often wondered if Hoagland ever had the effrontery to ask James Burke about the possibility of his making a second appearance on his show and what elegant, understated phrase Mr. Burke used to decline Hoagland's ghastly invitation.  No doubt hearing what he had to say on the subject would have been a treat for the human ear.

Cool find, Chef. The article also mentions the woman-like shape and the ancient tree stump. i have to say, the rock circle looks a lot like the big fire pits we use to make in the scouts out in the desert on camp outs. Maybe a little better.

I'm guessing that if you take enough pictures of any vast, desolate area, you're gonna find interesting things that look a little like fire pits, ancient tree stumps, alien faces and fossilized Chinese food containers and such, each with it's own bland explanation. Kinda fun to wonder some times tho.

As Hoagie knows, they're intentionally making such images inconclusive ... all part of the "plausible deniability" aspect of "slow disclosure".  So i.e. if you see a Martian rock that sort of looks like an engine block, well you know what's up.

Yes, he is on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00pm to Midnight, Pacific.  Midnight to 3:00am Eastern.  He's got the same format as before.  The same guests.  And the same two or three callers, too.

I believe he tried to call in during the last five minutes of the show.  Perhaps whoever answers the phone figured there wouldn't be any time for another caller, so why bother?  And besides, Michelle had already monopolized the remaining time by then, anyway.

The format is a tad different now - more based on a single guest for the full 3 hours with callers in the last 10-15 minutes max. Before it was more like the "panels" and callers had nearly equal time. This might work to his advantage. I couldn't imagine a 3 hour true open lines at this point without a sidekick or two.

Admittedly, this is the same lot who promised to "update" everyone as to why the 13 June programme was cancelled almost as soon as it had been announced:

For an Old School fellow (most of his "good" friends have been dead for a couple of decades now, at least), I must say that the manners of Hoagland and his lot have a decidedly 21st century feel about them.  Seeing as how his wardrobe has yet to move out of the year 1974 (and likely never will), perhaps his seemingly never-ending rudeness is Hoagland's idea of "keeping up with the times"?

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that Hoagland allowed Michelle to run on at length?  After all, Hoagland has time and again shown himself a dab hand at interrupting people.  Surely Michelle doesn't pose any particular difficulty in that regard?

In any event, it's glaringly obvious by now that Michelle is part of the décor of Hoagland's safe space, along with the paisley pattern wallpaper and the rather overstocked liquor cabinet (a glimpse inside of which reveals several dozen vodka bottles of the Wolfschmidt variety and nothing else).   And, like the wallpaper and the Wolfschmidt, Michelle has got to go, if only to prevent an already hackneyed show from giving listeners the sort of déjà vu they can well do without at this point.

How a transsexual person living in Japan manages to be so boring every single time is beyond me.
