As you know back when you were originally doing Coast the Jonathan Reed so called "Alien in the Freezer" story was confirmed to be a hoax. You confirmed this on your own show and the fallout began. After that you never had him back on.

Many listeners to your show and people in the UFO field are asking you to please not give Jonathan Reed more airtime to promote his proven fraudulent alien in the freezer hoax.

As you know there are many many guests you can pick from.

There are many many other guests which can bring back the magic from the 90's and not have to result in the Reed case.

The Reed case is the equivalent of doing a new show on "The Alien Autopsy" and reporting it as a legitimate case. Of course its not real and nobody thinks it is anymore.

Save yourself the headache and keep the hoaxer Reed Away.

I remember the dark matter show with him as well. What I seem to recall is that there was little interaction with Art and it was kinda like Art just let Reed read of a script. I did not enjoy it nor do I enjoy shows were the guest talks and talks and kinda keeps Art from asking his questions.

This is the show that sold me on Art Bell. The story was fake but it was told so well. One of the few times I just sat and listened and did nothing else. Art just let him go, and I realized Art's the open minded guy we need on radio.

Don't need to hear it again, but for what it's worth if you enjoy dramatic theater this is one to listen to.

I keep hearing that people think that Reed is a hoaxer with no explanation why. I have heard him on at least three very long interviews and read his book and it seems to be fairly compelling. What does Art think? I'm pretty sure he believes it.

I really did, all three or four times I've heard him. He could be 100% legit and I'd still be rooting for the freezer to fall on him. Dr. Pulaski could have called in, and it would have become high-energy.

When has this story been proven to be 100 % hoax? The only place I saw where they tried to debunk it was fact or faked and I gotta tell you they brushed over it pretty quick and the model they made did not move its eye as realistically as Reed's and the way they quickly debunked it was made it more suspicious. He simply said, Mr. Reed your lying then they cut to the end and said that was it. They never told us the details about WHAT he was lying about.

Yeah the story is probably fake but so are a lot of stories Art has. Mel's hole has little more than a kernel of truth, Dames is wrong all the time, Hoagland is crazy, Jim sparks won't take a lie detector, Whitley's story changed a hundred times. Now if it was conclusively proven to be fake, if Reed told them it was fake than I would agree with you. That's why physics and prophets like GMS, Dames and Morton shouldn't be allowed on because their failed predictions PROVE they are fake.

The story is probably fake because honestly why would you bring the Alien home with you? Also (like wheeber) the story got crazier as time went on. I agree he shouldn't be back on because we just heard everything, but if he has new info I wouldn't mind him returning.

Staying on topic, one of the reasons a person like me who doesn't listen to much paranormal radio likes Art Bell is he affords everybody the same opportunity. Reed's lucky enough to not have "Annoyed Art" and thus isn't in that thread.

The real rule of thumb for listening to Art and knowing the credibility of his guests is this: Do they have "Dr." attached to their name? Fraud. Do they use 3 names? Fraud. Do they use "Dr." AND 3 names? Awesome whack job. Someone probably has a flow chart.

Jonathan Reed is absolute garbage and one of the most obvious garbage guests that stands out in my memory. I think I've caught three different shows from Reed's first appearance in the 90s to his appearance on the Sirius/XM show. The guy was an absolute flim flam man trying to screw Art's audience out of money for some VHS tape that was being sold back in the day.

But at the same time, Reed was pretty entertaining and the show is just entertainment. While I love the hardcore conspiracy/government secrecy/ufo stuff, the wooy bullshit is also fun when its entertaining. Heck, most of the most remembered moments from the show (Area 51 caller, Mel Waters, Dallas Thompson, Bugs the Bigfoot Shooter) were all Wooy bullshit but extremely fun.

To me, I'd much rather have Richard Hoagland shot in the sun for being a wooy/huckster artist but I realize a lot of people (theoretically) enjoy him.

A hundred times is an exaggeration but it has changed a lot. When the Key came out he said that was his clearest extraterrestrial visit but then in Dark Matter he talks about how he and his wife and friends hung out with Aliens at their cabin.
