Bought this book about a month ago.  Haven't read it yet though though it is on my short list to read soon.

I read Preston's book Thunderhead awhile back, which is also about a search for a lost city (this was in the American West though).  You could see his archaeological knowledge come through in various details in the story.  Btw there was also a paranormal aspect to it which might appeal to some folks here.

This show is already reminding me how talk radio can still kick ass.

Indeed.  :D

Cool, thanks for the recommendation, zeeb.  I bought his book about the Italian serial killer and that was a good read.  Don't read much of his fiction though.  I tend to read more nonfiction as I get older.

Yeah, same, like the old days. I'm not even falling asleep.

I really miss good nighttime radio. I still spend most evenings in the 90s with Art.

Ooh love this song.  Old Mac

I'm typically sawing logs right now.  LOL!

The journey to find this place was a long and winding road.

That was a cool tune.  I haven't listened to much "old" Fleetwood Mac, but I do have Bob Welch's debut solo album French Kiss.  :D

I love that song! Bob Welch is one of the many immensely talented musicians of that era who never got the recognition he deserved because there's only so much room at the top.

Norm

Nothing beats the midnight kiss of a mosquito who sucks your blood and leaves you itching for more...

ShayP

Now I envision poisonous ants falling from the trees like rain.  Nice.   I guess I know what my nightmare will be today.  :(

Do you recall the name of that particular song?  I didn't pay attention if Knapp said it.

I confess a morbid fascination about such things:  spiders, scorpions, ants, etc.   I can't resist such stories but then later I always think I'm feeling those creepy-crawlies.  :-\

Ugh.  I used to have a huge fear of spiders but got over it (for the most part) as I got older.  I'll still scream like a girl if I walk unknowingly through a web or if one crawls across my face.  They are fascinating creatures though, no doubt.

ShayP

"The headless snake tried to crawl away..."  Well.  Add that log to our nightmare fire.  ;D

Hypnotized from the most excellent Mystery To Me album. Generally not for sale. Youtube only.

Spiders freak me out worse than anything. Especially these bastards. They have a habit of hanging a web face high in the woods. (Just above the height of most deer that walk through)
