This reporter asserts there was universal agreement that Iraq had WMD. So that whole thing with Valerie Plame and Scooter Libby didn't happen? A CIA agent was never outed by Scooter (Cheney's scapegoat) and we found Yellow Cake uranium?

Seems like the NY Post is shoveling the bull.

It is funny. This morning I was listening to NPR and they had a story on the WMD in Iraq and they were pondering whether it did harm our soldiers and why the news was, basically, covered-up under Bush and then under Obama until the NY Times and others leaked a CIA report. It was amusing to hear the expert interviewed wring her hands over the question about the war and now accepted WMD stockpile. Her explanation was that most were there from previous years (Iran/Iraq war etc.) As if those were ok then. Worryingly the expert said that of the numbers listed there are still possibly ones still somewhere in Iraq that we hope ISIS won't gain access too (she based her threat assesment on the numbers reported destroyed versus the numbers that had existed.)

We didn't go to war over nerve gas, mustard gas, etc. we went to war because we were told Saddam was out to build a nuke and he was in league with Al Quaeda. All of which is bullshit.

Oh, ok.  In that case Dan Rather, Brian Williams, Jon Stewart, and the rest of the liars and propagandists are justified

onan

Brian Williams braggadocio has little to do with WMD's. The fact that most comedians are left leaning is that the other side is very easy to make fun of. And let's face it conservative comedy is a step below indigestion.

I find it odd that the crooks that got us into Iraq have been very quiet about the weapons now being discussed. Probably because they were from what,30 years ago?

Under armored, under staffed, overused-stop-lossed soldiers were also part of the criticism towards the cronies of this ongoing shit fest.

"It could last, you know, six days, six weeks. I doubt six months."

I am much more disturbed by that lack of consideration than what Brian Williams lied about.

No one was charged for "leaking" the information. There is plenty of guilt to go around; including the (glad he's dead) Robert Novak.

Yep because Saddam had no track record of killing 100's of thousands of his own people. And oppressing women. And invading Kuwait and killing thousands. And being an Islamic extremist. And using WMD's on the Kurds. And having billions of dollars to give away to Islamic terrorist groups. And being an unelected dictator. And ignoring 20 UN resolutions to let inspectors in. Resolutions he agreed to. The idea he would use his billions to try to attain a nuke is so far fetched  ::)

Quote"Earlier today, I ordered America's armed forces to strike military and security targets in Iraq. Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs...Their purpose is to protect the national interest of the United States, and indeed the interests of people throughout the Middle East and around the world.

Saddam Hussein must not be allowed to threaten his neighbors or the world with nuclear arms, poison gas or biological weapons." - President Bill Clinton 1998 Address

It's a shame Stewart wont be around to further perpetuate the "Bush lied people died" lie. Liberals on the left can continue to repeat their ignorance, and their hero Bill Clintons words will continue to show them for the ignorant liars that they are. Clinton is the gift that keeps on giving.

The concern by the left for Valerie Plame is absolutely priceless! After spending 40 years doing everything in their power to discredit and dismantle the CIA, sudden outrage overtakes the left when a paper pusher at Langly supposedly gets "outed". What is the left's damage control? Give her and her husband an hour on "60 Minutes" and put them on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, haha!!!!!!!!!

In a classic example of left wing hypocrisy, 2 CIA officers are killed in Benghazi Libya 9 years later on 911 due to blatant negligence on the part of the Obama administration, and the left is silent. So shocking!  ::)

If only.

They are in full cover up, divert, and protect mode

When the WMDs were found, it was after Bush II had already been absolutely mauled for 'lying' about them and all that.  The ongoing uproar had mostly died down when weapons were found and Karl Rove didn't want to bring the subject up again, thinking the issue was in the past.

If that is accurate, it was a mistake.

Karl Rove has been a disaster across the board

Edit to add link:

I don't know if it's true or not, I wasn't there.  Sounds like Rove to me though:

Beyond inexcusable.  Not to mention the rules of engagement that hampered our kids and got more of them killed.

Do we deserve the politicians we end up with?  What a sad parade of detestable hacks and scumbags

While I don't care to argue about everything else in your post, I gotta interject on your assertion that Saddam Hussein was an Islamic extremist. He was a Ba'athist, and opposed to the institutionalization of religion (Islam or otherwise) in government and society. In fact, he gave millions of dollars in donations to various Christian organizations and many of his top level governmental advisers were Christian. It wasn't until after the Gulf War that he began to act "more Islamic", and that was really just a desperate ploy to gain power and influence in the region, and to assuage Muslim fundamentalists that were working towards overthrowing him. During his time in power he never targeted Christians in Iraq, but went after Shi'ites with a vengeance. He may very well have funneled money to various terror organizations, but it was more likely because they were working against the United States, not because of some shared religious philosophy. While some of these actions may scream "evil bastard", none of them scream "Islamic extremist".

1.Except we knew that Dumbya, his big Dick and the idiot Condiliar were lying about Saddam's fictional nuclear weapons before Dumbya's illegal invasion of Iraq.
2.It's also highly debatable that Saddam gave money to Islamic terrorist groups.
3.Other than those 2 probable lies, what does any of the rest have to do with the United States?

So Obama's former rebels, ISIS, killing Kurds (and many others) is a reason for war (according to Obama's plea to Congress) but Saddam killing Kurds (and many others) is not a reason for war :o And, oh yes, chemical weapons use are a reason to go after Assad (even support what became ISIS) is ok, but chemical weapon use by Saddam is ok. :o

1.ISIS may be a threat to the U.S, despite what Dumbya, LIEberman and McCain said, Saddam never was.
2.Most Democrats and Republicans in Congress didn't agree that Assad should have been gone after.
3.When did I say that I agree with Obama on everything?

Bombastic Bill-O is now under well-deserved scrutiny for his long history of pumping his "war" resume.  And he's responding with the class of of a cornered rat. Not that his cult followers or employers will care.

Bill-O admiring his biggest war hero... (seen on a tweet).

Ronald Reagan:
is reported to have boasted to Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and Simon Wiesenthal of photographing concentration camps at the end of World War II. He even told Shamir he'd helped liberate Auschwitz.

In his autobiography he wrote "by the time I got out of the Army Air Corps all I wanted to do--in common with several million other veterans--was to rest up, make love to my wife." But as Michael Schaller wrote in his book Reckoning with Reagan, "This obscured the fact that unlike most of the "several million other veterans," Reagan had left neither home nor wife while in military service."

BRIAN WILLIAMS  is a liar, and deserves to be yanked from the NBC Nightly News. In my opinion, he should be in jail for pretending to be a war hero.

Further, NBC should be ashamed for covering for this guy all these years. Disgraceful!

I don't believe he meant to lie. He was suffering from the early stages of alzheimers and confused his acting in war films with being in the military.
