When Tom Brokow took over the NBC Nightly News it was in third place.  When he left, it was in first, but with far fewer viewers than when he took over.

I haven't watched that crap since Brinkley left. He was the only news guy I ever trusted.

Wow that's great work. Unfortunatey he said that on his radio show not The Factor. And he also said in the next sentance he was never in the military. You'd know this if you had actually listened to the clip attached to the dailykos page you cut and this paste from.

Nice try though. Keep digging left wing websites, you're bound to find something eventually. Get back to us when you've foind 10 examples with cited references. Run along now.

Really?  You're going to try to break balls?  So tell me, considering how Reagan bombed Libya in (1986) retaliation for Pan Am 103 (which occurred two years later, in 1988, as you couldn't recall) were you also proud when Saint Ronnie attacked Grenada, thereby winning the Vietnam War?  Perhaps you want to expand on how Roosevelt started WWII by bombing Tokyo?  Maybe a little something in there about W. avoiding 9/11 by invading Iraq?

You've got brass balls demanding anything cited: at least VtaGeezer bothers to research something (and posts a source to substantiate) before crapping all over the "interwebs" like you.

Dang, all that from not watching Brian Williams and the rest... oh, wait

Since you, by your own admission, do not watch news or read newspapers, Paper*Boy, do us the simple courtesy of mentioning from where you collect your information about the world?  AM radio?  Newsmagazines?  Tinker Bell?

I've long contended you fail to cite or source nearly everything you claim; especially assertions about what "most people" think or believe.  Now you have revealed that, in fact, you have no source for information other than your own assertions about who does what, when, and why.

It used to be the school library, all those books, newspapers, magazines

I don't have to go to the library anymore.  Are you familiar with the internet?  Of course you are, BellGab is on it.

Guess what, just about every news publication in the world has an on-line version, if not all their content on the net.  Not to mention blogs and citizen journalists.  Any book a person can think of can be bought inexpensively and be delivered to your doorstep in a few days.  It's amaz-een!

Why don't you cite repudiating sources for PB's claims?

Wait, is your argument that journalistic sources are infallible and absolutely honest, Mr. Williams/Rather?

Wait, is your course of response sanctimony with false premise?  Why, yes it is.

Rather, Williams, Cronkite, Murrow all made mistakes and are not infallible.  The difference is, wait for it, they OWN UP to their errors.

"Rather, Williams, Cronkite, Murrow all made mistakes and are not infallible.  The difference is, wait for it, they OWN UP to their errors."

Like they did with Weapons of Mass Destruction and The Gulf of Tonkin; not to mention this whole, "Russia has invaded Ukraine" thing.

What if their mistakes were calculated and their apologizes insincere? We'd certainly be in trouble as a society then wouldn't we? Our trusted sources, tainted. Is it possible that these millionaires serve a different agenda than the one you thinks... hmmmm

Correct, it was from his radio show, my trivial oops.  Are you interested in footnoting or in facts? But your second point is a blatent distortion by omission.  That next line, to which you refer, came not from Bombastic Bill-o, but from a caller who called him  out for trying to portray himself as combat veteran.  Of course, Bill-o goes ballistic.

Here's the initial lie by O'Reilly and the ensuing exchange as it happened:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WObY922U-Ms

You listen to it. You tell me what that puffed-up sniping asshole O'Reilly wanted his listeners to believe when he said "I've been in combat..." until the next caller quite unexpectedly nailed his lie.  Think he fired the screener?  Funny how O'Reilly never mentions his "combat" experience in his autobiography, unless he meant that visiting the site of a govt massacre in El Salvador weeks after the event for CBS was "combat".  But he's so humble, he must have just left it out, eh? And I didn't get anything from Daily Kos; I just googled "O'Reilly combat".

Hilarous! We help overthrow a democratically elected government (again)... We finance, arm, train and prop-up an unpopular, right-wing government full of Neo-Nazi's... Then demonize Russia for helping it's kindred neighbor.  The Kiev government is slaughtering it's own people for VOTING to leave! That's like us bombing Oregon because it wants to leave the union. Which, of course, we would. (Just try it, "State of Jefferson," and see what happens.)

I probably should just let this go, but anyway...

1. "We help overthrow a democratically elected government"
1.A democratically elected government, yes, but one that also fired on its own people at a protest killing more than 40 people.  Yanukovich was also removed from office by a democrat vote of the equally democratically elected Ukrainian parliament.  While it can be argued that the parliament had no authority to impeach Yanukovich, he did leave Ukraine voluntarily.

2."an unpopular, right-wing government full of Neo-Nazi's"
The Neo Nazi parties received less than 3% of the vote and there are NO neo Nazis in the Ukrainian government.  The Ukrainian president Poroshenko is a mainstream European social democrat.  There are Neo Nazis who are aiding the Ukrainian government in the war, which is unfortunate.

3."The Kiev government is slaughtering it's own people for VOTING to leave!"
The vote in Crimea from a perspective of democracy was a farce.  There was no voter list or voter identification meaning people were free to vote as many times as they wanted to and the Russian military oversaw the vote, which casts serious doubt on how free the people were to vote. An  opinion poll taken a year or so earlier by a legitimate polling firm showed that by more than 2-1 margins the people of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine wanted to remain part of Ukraine. Even the clear majority of Russian Ukrainians wanted to remain part of Ukraine.

As to the 'slaughtering their own citizens'. I don't know, if the rebels are so concerned about that, how about they lay down their weapons?

Also, the so-called referendum was boycotted by the Ukrainians citizens of Crimea and the Tartars?,so the 'size' of the victory isn't exactly a surprise.

So, I'd say your 0 for 3.  Three strikes and you are out.

Not only O'Lielly but if the right wing is so concerned about Williams how come they still listen to the serial liar and illegal drug abuser Rush Dimbaugh?

Your assertions have no proof. Where is the source? Where are the photos and satellite videos? Remember, we can clearly photograph the date on a coin from space since 1995.  So if there are a bunch of Russian tanks and thousands of soldiers pouring in from Russia, we would have video evidence to discuss.... Where is it.

If you google it yourself you'll find that there are literally dozens of pictures, but each one of them is met with the same response of "how do you know that's in Ukraine?"

I believe the evidence I provided you previously is more than enough proof that Russian troops are in Eastern Ukraine.

Nobody is disagreeing with you that Ukraine is not worth a 3rd world war, after all how many troops have we sent to Ukraine? But Putin's warmongering actions can not be allowed to go unchallenged and NATO is certainly correct to send troops to Eastern Europe.

Feeley's blog is your source?  Oh dear. You should try to find one less biased; maybe Infowars or WND.

Seriously, you would compare www.informationclearinghouse.info to Alex Jone's site? That's pathetic.  Feeley's site is simply a news aggregator from global sources. He never even comments or blogs on the important stories that he publishes. Pathetic personal attack against someone you don't even know. Read the headlines at least.

You, sir, have no interest in the truth or any sort of real dialog or exchange.

Funny, how just even a few Nazi's tends to spoil peoples good will toward their new government. And what about the roving death squads accused of ethnic cleansing... I guess we should never let a few reports of racial cleansing deter us from our Jesus-inspired geopolitical goals.

I know nothing about this.  The number of deaths given in the war is 5,500 all of whom have been killed in the fighting, so I don't see how they could exist, or if there are gangs, that they haven't done much.

Maybe because they are the ones being slaughtered? WTF, dude? There are no Death Squads ethnically cleansing West Ukraine. You don't lay down arms when you are being killed. These "Rebels" are fighting for their lives, and we are supporting their oppressors that we helped install. They are opposing a coup in their own country. They are defending themselves against ethnic attacks.

What you should probably do is read some more foreign press and watch less TV... That way you'll have a more complete picture of our problems.

As for your sports metaphor, I'd say you're way off base as well... You're as blind and drunk as Harry Carey ever was. The bases are loaded with excellent points, there's zero outs (maybe a couple foul balls), and several of my best hitters are stepping to the plate.

Better change the channel, dude, this is about to be a blow out.

Dude,
1.NOBODY was being killed until the rebels started their war with Russian backing.

2.There was no 'coup'.  There was a democrat vote to remove Viktor Yanukovych from office by the democratically elected Ukrainian parliament after he had illegally killed his own citizens who were legally protesting.  Poroshenko was subsequently democratically voted into office.

3.Are you saying that the Ukrainian government does not have the right to defend its own territory?

You can complain about where I get my news from, but all your sources get their news from RT which is a fucking Russian propaganda site.
