I know its true because the T.V.  keeps telling me this might happen...That it's probably gonna happen.
My T.V. tells me about these threats constantly. All the time.

Now I can watch things like the Russian invasion of Ukraine and enjoy it as pure entertainment, rather than be afeared that it's the precursor to a broader conflict.


Ebola was never anything but a side-show on a filthy continent. The chances of it spreading in the West are slim to none.


I believe there's been an outbreak of Bubonic Plague in India since the Ebola 'scare'.... another place where personal hygiene is of only passing interest.


I'd love a good meter-strike somewhere on Earth, though.  A nice big one, not like the tiny thing that hit Russia a year or two ago... just a good sized meteorite that smashes the fuck out of some backwards hellhole. Let's say Glasgow...


What else... oh yeah, Deros spewing from the inner Earth, hell-bent on death and destruction.  That one's a long shot, but fuck it, dream big.


EDIT: fear is the thing government uses to control us.  If people weren't scared we'd actually be free, or at least a shitload more free than we currently are.  If the reaction to government and media fearmongering was, "So? Especially, though mostly from car accidents, you little Bambi causes far more deaths than any predators, the guest did tell a tale about a buck stalking around a guy and not leaving the body after he killed it! And Art related how he saw a mountain lion one night that was so big its body crossed both lanes of the road. (Guest didn't buy but said it was likely optical illusion or night perception issue.)

Interesting, but I would be more inclined to say disobeying posted speed limits and traffic warnings causes the deaths.  Bambi just gets in the way.

Fear not MrHippie. It is my understanding that the next extinction level event will happen as a thief in the night. Most will not be aware that the last days are upon them. They will carry on as they usually do. They will laugh, snicker, sneer and jeer as they normally do. They will make plans for tomorrow unawares that this day, today, will be their last.
