Speaking in tongues is contagious. Apparently it's like mass hysteria and can spread. People can just hear it and start doing it themselves, though it might require some kind of cultural or religious commonality. I don't know, there's an interesting wiki article on it that I can't find.

Anyway, the drummer in my last band claimed to have spoken in tongues during a Pentecostal service. He wasn't the brightest guy in the world and was convinced that one could "flip" any web page and it would somehow reveal a satanic opposite of the site.

Here's a photo of the dude. I believe he was stoned and eating some Thanksgiving dinner of some kind. He liked food a lot.
