It is more proper than it being "a living and breathing document."  In one sense it is in that it can be amended but besides that. No.  I could say people are silly to believe that but I won't because that would be impolite.

We've already discussed this.  The idea that you can take the few general sentences in The Constitution and even with adding in the Federalist Papers easily figure out the one proper way to apply The Constitution to a specific complicated case is absurd. 

One example I've given is this:  Congress shall make no law...  abridging the freedom of speech.

Yet, as far as I can tell even up to this day both The Congress and State Legislatures continue to pass laws against things they consider 'obscene' and the Supreme Court itself came up with this test of 'community standards' to determine if a jurisdiction could outlaw 'obscenity' even though there is no mention of community standards in The Constitution.

I also don't believe in censorship.  I acknowledge the argument for it and maybe even sympathize in some instances but beyond that, I'm simply against it.  I bet you thought you would not hear that from a so-called right-wing zealot.

No, not because of that.  I love movies and I thought the Hollywood Production Code was ridiculous.  You can try to prod me into being nasty but you won't succeed.

As for pornography, it would probably be a better world if the environment didn't exist that would cause it to flourish; however that world will never exist with the technology we have in place and the desires that the flesh doth surely hold to quote Springsteen. Better for those who are in that industry that it is out in the open and subject to legal regulations as other businesses are.  Cruelty exists in the shadows.

I don't think it was mentioned in that Wiki, but the way the Courts allowed the politicians to censor speech was that some judge decided that that sentence of the Constitution actually said "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of political speech." 

Maybe something in the Federalist Papers suggests the Framers only referred to political speech when discussing free speech, but if that's the case how hard would it have been for the Framers to have simply added the word 'political' into that sentence?

I can't argue with you on that point.  I dislike activist justices who feel free to add words to the Constitution. I don't care if they are on the right or left.

That's fine. But, the point is is that this is one of the clearest sentences in the Constitution and there are still different interpretations as to its meaning, yet alone trying to apply this sentence to a specific case.
