Third time around was definitely NOT the charm for this gal!

Unfortunately, Eric Holder will direct the FBI SWAT team to take her into custody and ship her to Italy.

The girl is absolutely innocent. What a shame.

This verdict is bullshit. I would hope USJD would have the sense to see that and tell the Italians to fuck off.

Yorkshire pud

Well of course she's innocent<sic>, she's an American alleged to have committed a crime in a foreign country. As for being extradited? I doubt it, however if she'd been an Italian who had been accused of killing an American in the UK, she'd already be serving her 99 year sentence or on death row and no-one would bat an eye.

But if she says she's innocent; she has a funny way of reacting to finding a pool of blood by taking a shower before calling the police, or performing cartwheels down at the station. Her DNA on a knife, (as well as the victim's, remember her?) she alleges not to know anything about. And if she is innocent, she'll have no problem voluntarily returning to Italy to clear her name, will she? Oh, her ex boyfriend was prevented from going into Austria today, something he denies..But so what if he was? He's innocent too apparenty, and Italy has an extradition treaty with all of Europe.

Hmmm, one's a nuisance who has had money and fame get to his head, aided and abetted by loads of 'yes men' the other one has murdered another person.. Easy I suppose to see them as equal crimes.

Well, I'm no stranger to sarcasm so I'll fill ya in on a secret... but I only really saw a few tid bits on the Knox story while serving active duty, you'd catch it on tv's here and there.  It wasn't like the Casey Anthony stuff where everyone and their mother had an opinion.  SO I don't truly know the facts.  I just think that by being american and "making it back home" so to speak in the way she did, if our country were to pick HER as the example by which to show our stance in the united federation of plan...err the world.  How could he not get rid of beiber lol.  He's a danger to himself and others...I mean drag racing with xanax and mary jane in your system...I'd be more interested in doing that if i didn't want a jelly doughnut while taking that combination.

Alternately there are many more people that are surely hanging out in both countries and should be deported for crimes against the other.  I'm sure there are some Italian Mafioso's around that are welcoming the fact they were simply deported back home instead of being held for crimes they may now have been found guilty of.

I don't know the facts is the basic jist of it when it comes to the Knox chick, I was trying to be cute and add humor, and probably failed on both fronts.

The alleged Knox DNA on the alleged murder weapon was found 47 days after the murder.Iit was also so minuscule and degraded, there is not a single court in all the USA that would have admitted it into evidence. Further, the knife was discovered in Knox`s bf`s apartment, in the kitchen drawer...where Knox and Sollecito (the BF) regularly cooked meals with the knife in question.

There is zero physical evidence connecting Knox to this crime. ZERO. Yet, somehow we find Rudy Guede`s DNA in large quantities, splashed throughout the apt.? Why? Because he killed Meredith Kercher, NOT Amanda Knox.

Course not! And it's a perfectly natural reaction after your friend has been murdered! Next.

Hmmm, but it isn't a US court, and the US justice system isn't the standard by which everyone else aspires.

Not so. You did listen to the link I take it? Get out of the 'She's American, ergo innocent if she's abroad' crap. As I said before, if she'd been Italian and had killed an American, you'd be on here with a photo of a noose.

And as I also said, I don't think she'll be back in Italy anytime soon. The Supreme Court in Italy has to deal with it yet, and that could take over a year. Even then, if the verdict is upheld there's no way the US will honour an extradition if Italy requests it. However, they WILL insist on having any non American sent to the USA without even telling the host country what the charges are..seems fair eh?

A British convoy was taken out in Afghanistan by an A10. The Families wanted the pilot to appear at the inquests to give an account of how it happened. The US military and Bush, flatly refused to allow it. So the families didn't get closure, and all they wanted was an explanation, they understood that blue on blue happens, they weren't wanting the pilot charged. Level playing fields.

As usual, you haven`t the foggiest clue what you`re talking about. There is ZERO physical evidence linking this girl to that murder. Tell me, Mr. prosecutor...HOW is it possible, that in a tiny apartment, in the process of committing a savage murder -- resulting in 2/3 of the victim`s blood being spilled -- there isn`t a single palm print, finger print, shoe print, smear, or any evidence AT ALL of Knox`s presence in the apt. at the time of the homicide? Yet, we see enormous amounts of evidence of Rudy Guede`s presence, including multiple prints, DNA, smears, foot prints, even feces, etc. ? Go ahead, Mr. Prosecutor, riddle me that?

Oh, I'm not the prosecutor. I leave that to others, and they seem satisfied that she has a case to answer, or are you more qualified than they are?  Do you seriously think the Italian justice system is so awash with resources that they'd push this if they didn't have a case? Really?

AS I thought. You haven`t a clue what the evidence is, or how it was collected, presented or argued. In fact, you don`t know much of anything, do you?

Oh hang on, no you don't.

Why, as a matter of fact, I do.

I spent a considerable amount of time examining this case and all the evidence associated with it.

Obviously, you didn`t. Not that your utter lack of knowledge on any given subject has ever prevented you from spewing your uninformed opinion before.

I agree.  This is a local story here in the Seattle area, so there's always been a lot of coverage.  At first, I thought she was most likely guilty.  As more of the story came out, I changed my mind and believe she had nothing to do with the murder.

Sure, go to a foreign country and clear you name from a prison cell.  What could go wrong?

Are you saying if it were you, you would return to Italy?

Foxy Knoxy is guilty as sin, whether she did it or not.   The one I feel sorry for is her BF, that poor sap actually has to go back to prison.   Thank the flying spaghetti monster that we have double jeopardy, although I am not sure about the exact details of why she's allowed to be retried over there.   One thing our forefathers got right was our legal system, flawed as it is - it is still the best system in the world.  I wouldn't want to be in court in any other country.

If that is true, her lawyers should be able to prove that fully and beyond reasonable doubt very simply. Obviously they didn't during first trial.

Have you seen OJ playing golf lately? I thought the putting on of the expensive glove for jury was the scam. After all, that glove was recovered the next day after being exposed to dew all night, was leather that shrinks when wet, and I doubt when worn originally a rubber glove was underneath (however that would be another step the prosecution should have displayed to the jury too along w/new glove of original size if no DNA evidence found inside glove recovered). Maybe the top right corner of this page should say: If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.

Then I expect you'll be petitioning the closure of Guantanamo Bay PB. How many there have been brought to trial for crimes they haven't been told they've committed.? Roughly? Prisoners are fighting for parole from their cells, yep, even in the USA. And they're all innocent too. Italy isn't Burma or China, she'd probably get treated a hell of a lot better than she would in a US jail, without fear of execution (oh the irony) with access to her legal team.
But anyway, it's academic, because in my view Capitol Hill will play to the gallery and look at votes before Italian courts. Might just make difficult though if the incumbent President at a later date tries to call one in. The NSA have burnt a few bridges on behalf of the US in many European countries, this could be another diplomatic mess.

Hand on heart PB: Do you really think she's behaved as someone innocent? She's been all over our news today, and most of it was to do with her being on US TV! She sure can turn on the tears and the caught voice..

Are you saying that Britain also doesn't allow prosecution to appeal a jury verdict after new evidence in a murder trial is found of guilt and acquitted by first jury based on incomplete, misleading, or false "evidence" presented too?

If so, then we have something in common. I guess it "isn't nice" to remove bad Judges and Lawyers from society based on their skill of manipulating and perverting reality. After all, they're the highest paid and maybe the Italians aren't so stupid.

Until comparatively recently we didn't have double jeopardy (off the top of my head I think within the last ten years) on behalf of the prosecution. Now, the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) can be petitioned with new evidence, and the respective Director of Public Prosecutions can look at the new evidence and if they feel that it's in the public interest to re-open a case (new forensics, witnesses etc) then the case can be re-opened and retried.

It works the other way of course and always has. And the convicted can plea for an acquittal if they presnt new evidence to support the original conviction being overturned. Which is one of the reasons we got rid of the death penalty in the 60's. Since then, quite a lot of people convicted of murder have had their convictions overturned when new evidence came forward that wasn't available at the time (Particularly modern DNA techniques) and it's thrown light on another suspect and brought them to trial.

I've been on jury service in my 20's, twice, which is unusual as many only get asked once, or sometimes never. It was pure theatre watching some of the cases; But I learned something, that the really good barristers (Attorneys) are incredibly sharp cookies and are very very incisive and get the story out of the witnesses. Out Judges are appointed by this:

Quote
The Judicial Appointments Commission is responsible for selecting judges in England and Wales. It is a non-departmental public body which was created on 3 April 2006 as part of the reforms following the Constitutional Reform Act 2005. It took over a responsibility previously that of the Lord Chancellor and the Department for Constitutional Affairs (previously the Lord Chancellor's Department), although the Lord Chancellor retains responsibility for appointing the selected candidates. The Lord Chancellor has also given up his other judicial functions, including the right to sit as a judge in the House of Lords.
The Commission launched its new system to select High Court judges on 31 October 2006, looking for candidates to fill 10 vacancies and 15 for a reserve list. Candidates submitted a nine-page application form, and shortlisted candidates were interviewed. All candidates were to be judged on merit alone, measured by five core qualities: intellectual capacity; personal qualities (integrity, independence, judgment, decisiveness, objectivity, ability; willingness to learn); ability to understand and deal fairly; authority and communication skills; and efficiency.
