Holy shit!  I thought that was the neatest trick ever.  One of my first calls to a DB an older cop lit up some coffee grounds on an electric burner.

Also found out that was why a lot of Dicks carried cheap cigars.
Makes me want to install an electric burner in my bathroom, hell with candles or matches.

Yeah, if you're a 'reader' once installed upon the 'throne.' It would be great to roast your own beans.  Remember to stir and let the beans 'crack.'

Sounds pleasant. I will roast some beans while I do some ear candling. Maybe throw on some Nora Jones too.

well that would definitely change the mood a bit. Perhaps no Nora Jones but rather some Heavy metal. But head banging and ear candling is a risky thing to do.

WTF? He got that used to seeing himself mirrored on the screen?

See that Versad, a bit of Fentinol, maybe some Ativan and some valium is a cocktail dr's us so you feel no pain or anxiety as well forget mostly everything that could be possibly unpleasant during his examination and possible procedures.

Bring the coffee grinds so we can burn them in a frying pan to kill the fetid stench in the hovel.

This thread is a wealth of knowledge. I learn something new everyday. I can't imagine how hard and stressful it is being a cop. I have my caseload all over Manhattan and the Bronx, but the physical office for my agency is in the South Bronx. I got out of work recently and walked across the street, heading to the garage where I park my car.

I noticed an unmarked police car with the police light spinning parked across the street, with an officer standing next to it. I didn't think much about that since I was crossing the street and wanted to avoid getting run over, so I was paying more attention to traffic. I'm one of the few people in the Bronx who actually looks before crossing the street. Everyone else just steps off the sidewalk and hopes for the best.

Anyway, I walked half a block to the garage, sprung my car out and drove to the corner, where the officer was. It was then that I saw the body lying on the sidewalk. I didn't see any blood, so I assumed it was drug related. There used to be a Methodone clinic in our building so it has become a hot spot for addicts to just come and "hang out". I have literally stepped over people on the sidewalk who were blocking the entrance to my building. They are so out of it, I don't think they even know where they are. There is usually a weekly visit from an ambulance and cops to my block at work. The new drug on the street now is something called K2 which makes people violent. I saw some dude strung out on it get held down before he could be loaded onto the ambulance. He was punching people walking by and flopping all over the sidewalk before that, so naturally the police had to be called. He was also dragging himself across the sidewalk and his pants were coming off before the cops came. Ah, what a wonderful world we live in.

Yes, yes, yes, but I was barked at by a Pekingese the other day and you don't see me writing long posts about it. Some people are so self-absorbed.

Well, admitting a Pekingese made you shit your pants when it yapped isn't anything to be proud of is it, really? Seriously.

Look, when you reach my age that sort of thing is a daily occurrence anyway, so it made no odds. I was just illustrating the vicissitudes that I face on a daily basis from marauding domestic wildlife. All these people from NY think they have it hard. They've never been hissed at by a swan!

Or had their arm broken by one; mind you, no-one in the UK has either. I was once close to being mauled by an aggressive sheep though.

Ah, you neglected putting their hind legs in your wellies before committing the nasty. A little countryman's tip for you when you try it next time.

Don't let me hear anyone say that this thread is not educational.

I got into a bit of a tiff with OLG, over this issue. Falkie is a mooch. He has no concern for his antisocial behavior. I would bet, he sees himself as honest and deserving. I wouldn't trust him with a used postage stamp.

Not to mention he murdered the apartment inspector and I think he is planning on canning him. Why else would he buy a pressure cooker?

The mirrored image on the screen still confounds our dear Flunkie.

Oh man... I actually thought he handled this, stupid me. I wonder how long it took him to learn how to use a light switch.

I think it's because his new specs mean he can now see things almost the same as he should with normal vision. It's a brave new world for him and everyday objects and situations will take time for him to comprehend. It's almost a bit like watching a toddler realise it can walk unaided and then giggle when it plops down on it's backside.

Felchie, where did you get this haircut? You were lying on a meadow and a horse gnawed on it?

the Leo Ashcraft gig was meant for Falkie. That's why he inexplicably switched to the all news format(suggested by George) a few months ago, to perfect his craft.  Looks like Noory grew impatient with Falkie's lack of progress and poached Ashcraft instead

This is funny.

I am curious as to what happened with the inspection. It was week after week of extensions, failed inspections, do-overs, etc. The last report we had from Falkie was that a inspection was scheduled but they never bothered to show up. I think they just flat out gave up.

I think they basically had to bully him into cleaning his filth up and threatened him with the further inspection/eviction if he didn't comply. The inspector (or idiot as he would prefer) probably didn't have the stomach to confront the stench from him and her, and begged her/his supervisor not to make them go.

Yes NYC is a magical place!

Here's another nugget for you, when the "Methadonions, from Methadonia" get their Methadone and either take to much or have used a little something else before they take the Methadone and take off to find their home world...they get a bit spaced out. Or just any run of the mill junkie overdoses and they don't respond to let's say a couple "purple nurpples" they will require a shot of Narcan. That is great stuff. It will cause immediate re-entry to Earth from any opiate or poppy based drug. Recently the NYPD has started a trial program that was extremely successful and is now being implemented on a wider scale amongst the "coppers" on patrol. Used to be EMS carried it on their bus and would give the mopes a shot to pretty much save their lives. Man, you want to see a pissed off junky? One minute he's flying and the very next they're crashing back to Earth. Works very fast. Maybe the guy who was swinging for the fences was pissed because his trip was interrupted?

So next time you see the cops around ask them to go and give the junkies shots of Narcan and then you won't have to step over their bodies as you leave work! Just here to serve Ms.

BTW...I do believe, at least when it was first formulated, Narcan was made by DuPont. Same guys who make much of the gunpowder (in the USA), TNT and Napalm...so there is a few good things those guys make. Shoot ya, blow shit up, set you on fire and...save your life from an possible overdose.

You know as hard as dangerous and as depressing as "the job" with the NYPD was and could have been most days I miss it everyday. It was very satisfying and I loved. Certainly didn't do it for the money as in the early '80's and beyond we were paid nothing. I still loved it and most of the people did appreciate what we did, well that was except the bad guys and jerkys like flakie. We tried to help them the best we could as well.

So IB...if you ask me anything else and I do know the answer no problem , if I don’t  know it most certainly was someone elses fault...usally the guy who wasn't  around or I can just make up an answer for you!!! Either way we're good.
