Everyone only insofar as heads of economic institutions. Let's face it, what do they know?

Hmmm... So you're saying? They'd do better financially, living in two separate apartments, than getting married and living in one... How could that be? If true, I'm getting a divorce.

Falkie must be a financial genius!

In a way.

He thinks he's very clever scamming the rest of us.  It doesn't occur to him his way of life has destroyed his spirit and caused him to waste his life.

His government handouts aren't taxable, nor is anything he can coax out of internet marks.  Actual income that he earns isn't taxed unless it's more than the standard deduction and personal exemptions, same with Kathy so there's no taxes to be saved.

Someone calculated his portion of the government subsidized rent is something like $250 a month.  He probably gets discounted utilities.  He doesn't have to worry about retirement or where the next check is coming from, he's all set.  So's Kathy.

I think Kathy would happily sponge off anyone if it meant not having to lift a finger to do anything except eat, and isn't particular about living arrangements other than that, but Falkie wants his space and keeping an additional $300 a month by sharing an apartment isn't worth it to him.

Given the number of people living like this out there, and how few of them ever do a thing to make themselves employable like taking classes or getting job training or getting clean and sober, I'd guess most of the able bodied people living off the rest of us are just like Falkie and should be cut off.

You always did strike me as the cool, lezbionic type.  ;)
I've been a lesbian all my life.  And I'm good with it.

They each get a check from the government, but if they were under the same roof, the check (and overhead) would be smaller. What I'd like to know is what Kathy is doing with her check now that she does not have to pay rent or utilities.

Well, I'm sure your wife is very happy that you are attracted to women!  ;)

Maybe she's saving up for a more supportive bra or three? Maybe?

Ms K burned all of her bras back in the '60's and hasn't looked back.

Could it be that? They get more welfare benefits staying unmarried and having separate apartments, than getting married and living in one appartment... Rent subsidies pay for both apartments.
Also..  Free rent for two apartments is more total square foot person!
And the government knows that two people can live less than one, so a couple would get less monthly welfare income than two people living separately?

Like the single welfare moms that keep having kids with different fathers...  Grifting the system to maximize their monthly income.

Falikie is a fiscal conservative, surely he wouldn't be grifting the system, by intentionally not marrying sweet Kathy, to maximize their monthly welfare income!

Yep... Those 60s era bra burners are paying the price for their youthful foolishness in their old age.
Karma ... Today's brilliant tats will be tomorrow's faded black and blue blotches ...

Long ago did sweet Kathy get temple tats?

Hey Falkie, any big plans for the weekend? I think you should take sweet Kathy to see The Martian. I would love to have a review of the film. Maybe you could point out all the sciencey mistakes that it will no doubt have. I'm sure that if Ridley Scott would have consulted you instead of NASA the film would have been less fiction and more true hard science. Hey big guy if you and Kathy do go to the movies do you think you would order popcorn with extra butter? You should. It will give you diarrhea. That would be fun for you. Also on the return home you could maybe stop and get a box of wine. A box is better because you can leave it on the floor and not have to worry about stepping on glass.

Fixed.

A bit harsh. It does piss me off, as there are people with serious medical conditions that could be collecting benefits but aren't. Meanwhile, Falkie just wants to do nothing with his life and blame everyone but himself for his problems.

I got into a bit of a tiff with OLG, over this issue. Falkie is a mooch. He has no concern for his antisocial behavior. I would bet, he sees himself as honest and deserving. I wouldn't trust him with a used postage stamp.

If it is harder work to not work then Falkie is the hardest working guy in USA.

I'll just leave this here.

Falkie,  would you be interested in taking Leo Ashcraft's place and doing Dark Matter News from now on???

Even if you do it on a temporary basis, it would look good on your resume.

Please inbox Art.

I think you can pull this off quite easily.

Keith Rowland?  Now there's a surprise, hasn't he been wonderful and accommodating to everyone?

Sarc/off

Instead of being a paranoid recluse, Art would be better off hiring professionals - including an attorney who would almost certainly have advised him to line out the non-compete clause in a contract that paid him $70,000/year* before signing it - rather than working exclusively with people he 'trusts' who aren't up to the job.

*Although I still prefer to believe Art wanted to take a little time off to regroup and was lying about the non-compete, rather than being dumb enough to have signed it.

Hey Falkie, I was talking to my mother on the phone earlier. She worries about me and asked if I have made many friends or if I have met any nice gals. I told her that I have met a Falkie. She didn't know what a Falkie is so I explained that you are an older gentleman that likes to go shirtless and make videos in his apartment. I told her that I also know of a smart girl named inglorious bitch. I also mentioned a cop named jocko. She was upset that I was involved with any coppers so I think she is going to buy me a plane ticket.

Holy shit!  I thought that was the neatest trick ever.  One of my first calls to a DB an older cop lit up some coffee grounds on an electric burner.

Also found out that was why a lot of Dicks carried cheap cigars.
