y'all must like to hear yourselves type if you think any of your fresh vegetable buying tips will change Falkie in any way. He is going to go down making his videos and eating his frozen food like he has for the last 20+ years.

The problem with you brain dead numbnuts is that you read and then ignore what I post just so you can have something to bitch about which has NOTHING to do with the TRUTH !
Now fucking PAY ATTENTION because this is the last time I am going to REPEAT myself on this.
For years I froze fresh vegetables using a seal-a-meal and they tasted fine months later.
Used to have a big Montgomery Ward's freezer and ate corn on the cob year round and fruit.
I've also canned fruit and vegetables.
I go to the Farmer's Market both here and in Concord when its open and in season.
I also shop for fruit and vegetables at Food Maxx, Costco and Sprouts Famers Market, which has bargains on fresh vegetables.
I've been buying FRESH vegetables since I was 16 going back to the former Co-op here in the Bay Area before their politically correct policies drove them under as people got tired of their food choices being politicized.
I walk to the market here or take the bus to Concord or Kathy drives me. I have also gone to the Farmer's Markets in Berkeley, Albany and just discovered a new one in Oakland and longer before there were farmer's markets all over I used to take the bus to the huge produce market on Alemany in San Francisco. I've also been a regular at the Market on 7th street in SF for years. I prefer fresh produce but when its too expensive I buy frozen.
There have been times here when fresh produce is almost impossible to come by as when celery shot up to $2 a stalk last year. I then found a cheaper frozen alternative for making chicken soup.
With rare exceptions, the ingredients in my soup & stews are all fresh except for occasional cans of carrots and this huge pile of frozen onion that I grated and is in my freezer & is used for the taste. It was fresh when I bought or was given them. People here leave excess onions, potatoes, etc. for anyone to take.
There's also a farmer's market just up the street across from the Concord Costco, Kathy & I have shopped there 2 months ago.
Don't EVER assume YOU know what MY vegetable & fruit buying habits are.
I went to Denio's in Roseville for years to their produce market when I lived in Sacramento and have bought from farms and roadside stands.
You'll be wrong every time.
By the way, Foodmaxx and Sprouts prices are generally cheaper than Costco though I like being able to buy lots of fruit at Costco but I always feel like I'm going to be feeding a family of 87 when I go in there.
I have tried to grow spices from/on my balcony but the direct sun fried everything except rosemary. I can't grow things downstairs because when people have tried to grow tomatoes here, people steal them before they're even ripe.
When I lived in Oakland I had a bedroom that was so warm I grew tomatoes in it and when I lived in Sacramento I was growing spices in pots because I had shade.
There are lemon, oranges and plum trees around here that everyone picks. On the street & not owned by anyone.
The Boys & Girl's club 4 blocks from here, churches and food banks also give away fresh produce at times.
Neighbors here go door to door with the excess and ask if you need anything, like potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.

I haven't had the pleasure of rail travel, or passing through Martinez in some time. The dude who plays a dude playing another dude has put in lots o' miles by air and auto in the past three months though.

I'm worried about my shed kitty. Something scared her three nights ago and she won't come out to eat so I'm putting her food in her shed. She and inside cat don't get along at all so bringing her in is not an option.

The trees here are full of dozens of squawking woodpeckers lately. Fuckers.

Go down to the Apple store and buy a new IPad.  Then rush home and get to work.  Do more food reviews.  This guy has the right idea.  Hormel Compleats.  $2.50 at your local Dollar General.  No freezing or refrigeration required.  They can sit on the shelf at room temperature for years.  Better living through chemistry.  This guy likes them.  And the best part?  He got over 900 views!  Why reinvent the wheel?  Just do what this guy does.  He keeps his viewers by adding PLEASE SUBSCRINE at the end.   It must work.  I don't know how many SUBSCRINERS he has but he got over 900 views on this one.

Certainly no one would call it a good choice- and that's the thing, no one is.

Don't TELL us, do a video on the fresh, local, fair trade, organic, whole food lifestyle.  I for one am obviously interested in shopping for produce, and what's available

PS  It's a shame the Berkeley Co-op is gone.  A friend worked there, and gave me his view of what happened if you'd like to hear it
