Pictures of turds in toilets (literally) now stand in for comment.

No offense to any of the hosts, but is the Gabcast any better than this thread?   And I'm talking before it became the FalkieCast.   Most of it was just talk about poop, porn and cock pics, etc.    I personally find Falkie's videos more interesting and entertaining, and again, that is no offense to those hosts.   The gabcast has had its shining moments.  But even Bateman, whose podcast we all enjoy a lot, is posting links to false-semen filled dildos and MV proudly announces his gamer tag as Jism Satchel.

I hate to tell all of you folks, but nothing has changed much in the time that I've been here.  Those "great posters" were, imho, children for not being able to stand a few nonsense threads.   I felt like they took their basketballs and left the playground because they didn't like the games the new kids were playing on another part of the court.   When I first came here, I tried to talk about FOOD and was attacked for a nonsense thread, while a discussion amongst those people about old fighter planes was perfectly fine.   And it wasn't a nonsense thread, it was just as legitimate as the book, movie, music or fighter plane thread.   If they're so snobby as to dictate what threads should exist on a forum they don't own, then fuck them.

As far as I'm concerned, the only person on this board who has any say is MV.  If he decides to cancel the thread, so be it, but he might as well ban Falkie too, because Falkie is just going to go "ruin" other threads (other people's words, not mine).

Curandero81

Merry Christmas to all (even BART Ell), and a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Curandero81
PS. No more ignore lists, a new year and a new beginning.
May all have a new and prosperous New Year, physically, mentally and financially.
I truly hope 2015 is a wonderful year as I have suffered 3 very personal tragedies in 2014 and the only hope I have are my 3 remaining children and my 2 grandchildren.

Hey man, that sucks.  Sorry to hear about your losses.  I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as well.

A51, I get what you're saying.  You--all of us, I am sure--clearly have multiple interests.  I dig your contributions to the Astrophysics thread.  I have said almost nothing about Falkie.  I don't know him.  I think I am one of those who urged people to lay off the wildly cruel insults.

Look, I can deal with nonsense threads.  Sure, sometimes I have griped about them.  The Fresh New Smell thread is one I found tiresome to a large degree, but Bart El carved out a niche for those who found the vids and pictures interesting, so I STFU.  I even began to appreciate the effort that went into the thread.

My vague recollection is that people began dumping quickly on Curander; I haven't researched why that took place, but I do note he now routinely slings poo with the best (worst?) of 'em.  I just am genuinely dismayed at the evident hunger some people have to spend time on trashing each other.  Guess I'm just a fragile flower.  Whatever.

I'm just me trying to change and be a better me than I was.

That's very commendable.  Here is a place to start.  Stop rewriting history.   On the Gabcast you said Obama killed the space shuttle.   In reality, President George W. Bush announced in 2004 that the shuttle would be retired in 2010.

Here is a direct quote from President Bush in 2004.

"The Shuttle's chief purpose over the next several years will be to help finish assembly of the International Space Station. In 2010, the Space Shuttle -- after nearly 30 years of duty -- will be retired from service."

Rewriting history is not an effective way to enhance your credibility, Falkie.

Check out the link and you can read President Bush's speech announcing the retirement of the space shuttle.

Catsmile

I loved the idea of a space shuttle. The real space shuttle didn't live up to the stated goals of what it was supposed to do as it existed. No matter who scuttled the program it needed to be done, good call.

For brevity sake just 2 goals that it failed on are/were.

A safe reusable platform to space.
A less expensive platform to space than single use rockets.

One last thing and this IS personal. I got awakened by the dsl installer at 830 and go to bed late because my fans and friends are calling me at all hours and I'm going to sleep in the early am and being awakened by calls after only 1 or 2 hours sleep.

fans?? huh??

Falkie2013

Space, by its inherent nature can be dangerous.

I din't know if the 3 billion Obama asked for ever got funded.

Congress and the manned soace haters are disinclined to spend money on manned space and it does not look like commercial manned space is going be sucessful for a long time either.

We need to have manned space uf for no other reason to combat asteroid strikes in the earth that could extincct event everyone.

And I'd like to see men get to Mars before I die though its not very likely I will live until 2030 or however long its going to be.

No, not those fans.
Box fans are off for the winter except when the prednisone kicks in and makes me sweat like crazy. Its a very undesired side effect and I have tobturn on the fans in the bedroom or living room because I'm soaked because of it. Have to be careful with shoeering because the plumbing in this section of my building is so old that the water from the kitchen sink backs up into the bathtub and they  having to get rescue rooter to come out and clear out the sewage lines. Eventually they intend to tear out the  walls in this entire wing, put out everyone here in new living quarters and replace the 4 inch lines with 6 inch lines. This place was built in the mid 1950s and some apts have 3-4 peopke living in it and the lines were put in to  accommodate a single tenant.

As the late Ronald Reagan said to Jimmy Carter,  "Well, there you go again."

First, I'm not talking politics.  I'm talking history.  Specifically, your habit of trying to rewrite it.

Let me make this real simple.  On the Gabcast you said Obama killed the Space Shuttle.  You said it.  Everyone heard it.  It's on MV's UFOShip.com site for posterity.

The truth is, President Obama did not retire the Space Shuttle.  President Bush retired the Space Shuttle.  That's not an opinion.  It's a simple fact.  It's not politics.  It's history.

President Bush said the following in 2004:  "The Shuttle's chief purpose over the next several years will be to help finish assembly of the International Space Station. In 2010, the Space Shuttle -- after nearly 30 years of duty -- will be retired from service."

That is a direct quote from President Bush.

I concur with Little Hater above.  We have lost some very bright posters:  Onan (if he does not come back), Sardondi, Ben Shockley, Chew Mouse, Chine come to mind.  Speculative discussion and informed discourse have been largely replaced with never-fucking-ending jr. high insult-fests.  Pictures of turds in toilets (literally) now stand in for comment.

Things get rough in the politics thread--no surprise there.  But even the tone there has improved quite a bit lately.  I discovered those threads after exploring the material that originally drew me in:  Bell and paranormal material.  Bell is now gone and may not resurface in a meaningful way.  Paranormal stuff has mostly become boring nonsense in the hands of Noory and waaaay too many ghost hunter sort of programs.  And now almost every time I pop into the general threads, they are dominated with all-things Falkie and people trying to show how oh-so witty they are.  Ugh.

I haven't been following much about the goings-on here, but why did they leave? Was there a kerfuffle? Is this forum having an existential crisis or something?

No i called obama a socialist and commie. Look for his ties to the chicago new party which was once the american communist party. They endorsed obama, gave him funding, met in his house with bill ayres and required him to sign their platform as a condition of their support.

Not delusional at all.

1.  Box fan use, and feeding feral cats, by it's inherent nature can be dangerous. Nice platitude, but platitudes are not facts. You obviously have no idea just how dangerous the space shuttle was. And with the fleet aging out it was only becoming more dangerous, and expensive to maintain. Even when the fleet was new it didn't meet the goal of being safer, or cheaper than single use rockets. Not to mention the design changes to save weight and money on the booster rockets. It's truly amazing more shuttle launches didn't blow up on take off. By the skin of their teeth... thats the platitude that comes to my mind.

2.  Please back up this idea with facts. That current manned space flight can... "combat asteroid strikes." You know that was just a Sci-Fi movie right? There is nothing in the public about being able to stop any large object from striking Earth, manned or not. All we have currently are ideas on the drawing board, at best.

3.  Well... as long as you get to see the Mars landing thats all that matters. Again it's Falkies world, we all just live in it. Screw facts, and reality be damned.

Once you've spent half your life in aerospace... I might give more weight to your opinions on aerospace. Otherwise it's just more of your endless loud mouthed Yankee bloviations.

Bloviations that I have endured, and ignored mostly over the years. I know this might come as a shock to you. But some people spend their lives learning, and working hard making the future happen. And those folks might know more about something than you do. Creating the future you opine for is a lot harder than your job. Which consist of straining farts though a box fan, and spewing uninformed opinions into forums and videos, endlessly. And you have every right to do so! But don't be shocked, or butthurt when flies are attracted to all the bullshit you create.

Some people do get tired of all the drama that is Flakie. I've ignored it for the most part, but that can only go so far it seems. Screw it I'll jump in with both feet. Call me a troll, or hater whatever. But that assumes I care about you enough to hate you, which I don't.

I watched a program the other nightbwhere jpl and nasa scientists discussed developing a program to move asteroids approaching the earth if we had enough warbing to develop a program to do so. They said it might take 10 to 20 years to develop and fund such a program and that it would take billions. They also said an asteroid will get very close to the earth in 2026.

My " opinions " as YOU choose to call them are based on the articles I have read, the programs I have seen and the books on physics I own and have read including Stephen Hawkings, Carl Sagan and Michio Kaku. I've never said I was a scientist.

Box fans is a running joke started by MV.

Got news for you Catsmile.  Pretty much anyone who discusses news/events on the radio and on TV know little or nothing about the subjects they discuss - including Art Bell.  The good ones pretend like they know more than they do because guess what?  Most other people don't know anything abut that stuff either, so even a little cursory knowledge goes a long way with the general public.  I don't see how what Falkie does is any different, and I'm sure we could find posts of your own where you make comments about things you haven't studied over a lifetime  either.  I know I'm guilty of it at times.  There's no need for calling him names in this instance.

When Flakie tries to rewrite history he needs to be called out on it.  And when he brags on YouTube about telling his girlfriend to "shut the hell up," he needs to be called out on it.

Telling someone to "shut the hell up" is verbal abuse, pure and simple, especially when it's someone you pretend to care about like a wife or girlfriend (or parent or child).

I'll do as I please, just like you do as you please. Falkie can say, or do as he pleases. I never typed "spent a lifetime" you are over stating what I typed. Nor is it news to me that 99.9% of the media are empty talking heads.

I'm stating my opinion of Falkie after years of enduring all of the drama surrounding Falkie. And all the drama that spills out of this thread. Not just this one instance. If thats okay with you?

Got news for you not everyone wants to hear, or read every brain fart Falkie has, unlike you. You may bask in delight at Falkie for who he is, more power to you. Why are you surprised when people come out of the woodwork, sooner or later to call him out on BS? Why should people ignore all the tall tales and stories that don't ring true, and other actions he fesses up to? Why is it news to you people would call him out on his bullshit?

Not everyone is like you begging and pumping Falkie for every last detail he can concoct. That shit may get your rocks off, but frankly it insults the intelligence and dignity of some. Furthermore I question the nature of your relationship with Falkie. I see it like a leach and it's host. Who the leach is at any given time I have no idea, but you are both consenting adults.

And before you go there... I have ignored Falkie for at least 2 years, but like jock itch ignoring it doesn't make it better. The question in my mind, is why do you bring Falkie up on BellGab so much? Thats a rhetorical question by the way. It's not like he doesn't have a forum, or you can't chat with each other without BellGab. Some people enjoy watching things burn, but there is no kindling on Falkies forum.  ;)
