When you're 70 years old.....you feel it. Trust me on that, my friend.

Every night of a Noory broadcast feels like it lasts 2 years.

And the segment with Aldous Burbank on Gabcast was great, probably better than the whole show.
;) ;D

Very, very funny segment.

I'm listening to last weeks show. I needed a good laugh after all the bs we've gone through.

" I'm tending a fire. "

Near Donner Pass.

Where in the fuck was he calling from ?

Donner Pass ?

WTF ???

I'm tending a fire will be how I think about Aldous from now on.

You ain't kidding. Did you hear the chain-smoking "Dr. Mona Lisa" last night? This was my face for an hour:

What movie is it from?

I've been suffering from a hacking, coughing cold since Sunday. Spent most of Sunday night and Monday daytime coughing. Finally got some relief by buying an electric throw blanket and slept almost non stop Monday night. Still coughing tonight but not as bad.
Listening to Gabcast and an old AB broadcast with Stan Deyo and some guy predicting doom from the sun with our magnetic field collapsing and Hawaii and the Aleutians sinking.
I couldn't believe that the host of Bellgab never listened to your show but there are a lot of lame paranormal podcasts out there.

The way time is inexorably hauling ass, I can easily imagine this thread still going strong when the two year mark is reached, at which point, someone will inevitably say "SEE?! I TOLD YOU ART WOULD BE BACK, YOU FUCKING NON BELIEVERS."

Art will return!

Art will not return!

I'm covering both possibilities now, so the smarmy future eddie dean can quote this post, cleverly edit out one of the "predictions"  & feel superior! ;)
In your face!! ;D

Also I might add, the future eddie dean might be a miserable recluse, with lots of cats and a nice collection of toenail clippings and urine stored in mayonnaise jars. So I might need the  emotional bump. All I need now are the cats.
Hi future self!!

Hi future self!!

I understand stockpiling urine but why the toenail clippings?

Perhaps that should be an Ask Aldous question on The Gab Cast 2.0.

See what I did there?

The latest episode of The GabCast 2.0 is now posted here.

Listen to it and then play it backwards for a secret message from Art Bell.
Does he not realize that saying thins like that (even backwards) will cause BOTH Oates and Noory to sue him?  Or does he have proof?

Now if Art can get someone to tie into a timeline where he never either quit Coast or DM & we figure out how to stream those episodes ...

Well that settles it. Falkie has given the GabCast his Kiss of Death. Considering you've been prognosticating the demise of C2CAM for so long it looks like the GabCast will be around for a long time. We may need to set up a debate between you and George Noory. It should be a bigger draw than JC vs Oscar.

BRING IT ON !

OR Get 'er done !

With apologies to Larry the Cable Guy who has a very funny Christmas CD.

Remember that a glacier melts a bit at a time and it will take time to change the minds of those who think that Noory is so wonderful.
Even one of your co-hosts said he liked Noory at first until he realized that Noory really sucked after listening to hiim for awhile.
It takes time to convert the listening heathens and those who have not heard the word of Bell.

You've only been on what is it ... one episode ?

It takes you time to destroy a show with your calls.

Note that MV left after you called Gabcast.

I rest my case.

What if, Art Bell came back as an Actor playing a Paranormal Radio Host?

Like a Chris Gaines thing.....

Art would be acting and wouldn't be competing against himself.

I'm beginning to think the best we can hope for is that Art Bell comes back in the next life as NOT someone who quits all the time.

If you do manage to set up a debate, maybe we could get that guy who used to say :

" Let's get ready to rumble ! "

to do the intro.

Hmm, or as an alternative get JC to call your show. Then Eddie would know he'd arrived.

I gotta admit.  MV was the reason I listened to gabcast for more than 5 seconds the first time I heard it.   Funny dude.  Quick and a relevant sense of humor.  Cast2.0 wasn't the same without Chunga VanderPooofter.

Even my wife enjoyed the MV shows.  She was asking "who are these guys? They are hillarious" not having a clue what bellgab was.  It was awkward telling her that it was a radio show about a forum about a radio show that doesn't exist anymore.  Like real awkward.

Ah... the banner. Now I understand, but only after listening to The GabCast. Muchos Gracias. Here's hoping that in two years we'll be able to hear about EVPs from a Chalupa as well. Cheers.

That would be the incomparable Michael Buffer...last I understood he got about $15 - 18, 000 to utter his famous tag line.

Replacement host is a difficult gig. I don't pretend to be the same type of host as MV is. MV's experience in radio is apparent. He could be hosting any local or national radio show without any troubles, imho. The Gabcast 2.0 is different without him, better or worse, it is what it is. There is always room for improvement. I believe we have a good core and good foundation to build upon.
If it fails miserably or if no one likes it or listens, so be it. I am having a blast doing the show!
I, or I should say, we,  had the opertunity to continue the show or give up and let it die.
We chose to keep it going, put ourselves out there and take a chance at building an entertaining and fun show about, and for, this forum.
As each host gets more comfortable, our unique personalities will emerge. None of us (onan, jaz  & myself) have experience in broadcasting.  I don't know how many more times I need to state this, perhaps this can be the last time.( Nobody is asking, so its probably my hangup anyway. :-[)

I am extremely proud of how far we have come in only 2 broadcasts, it might sound amaturish and disjointed when you compare it to the 2 shows we did with mv at the controls. I didn't expect to jump into the 2.0 and suddnely be an expert or  seasoned broadcaster. With every new venture, it takes time, and, I might add, balls, to do something out of the comfort zone of most sane & cautious people.
If you like it, great. If you listen reguarly, even better. If you hate it, call us! ;)
Not every person will like the show, some will hate it and be vocal about it. That is fine, it comes with the territory.

On a side note:
I've got paparazzi camped in front of my house now! they've already taken a picture of my freashly shaven ball sack,  as I was emerging from my vehicle the other day. What can you do?

I dont say this to discurrage critical comments or opinions. In part, it is what this forum is founded and based upon. I don't think you, Dantsx, are being unfair or attacking me or the show without foundation. Or, even that I feel attacked by your opinions. I do not.
Its been the elephant in the room for some time.  your post was a good springboard to address the MV situation here, get it out of the closet (Yes, jaz is gay, sorry jaz) and in the open.
Now go fuck yourself! ;D kidding

Ok, now. Are you going to talk about it or are you going to post a picture? Depending, it could make for a very nice Christmas card picture.

BTW, I like you three guys just fine, or as they say in NY, youse guys just foine.

I think if we all pitch in we could afford something on the bottom end of that scale... Possibly even doubling it to around $30? ;D

Did you collaborate with Noory about what to say when you take over a show and ruin it?

Yes, I'm just kidding.  I have heard both episodes and like them.  (You just seemed like such an easy target being a little defensive ;D.)  Even the problems in the first added something to the show.  If it were a nationally syndicated show with producers and a researchers I would expect something very different (notice that I did not say "better" as it would be slicker and more polished which does not necessary make it "better.")  I really think that those of us who tune in do so as an extension of this board and all of the personalities on it.  This board is not "polished" or "slick" and I would actually be upset and stop listening if you brought in a "professional."  (Note that I would also stop listening if you invited Noory or Wells to co-host weekly.)

I all honestly, so long as you all have fun and leave the lines open so that there is a chance to hear others on the forum I think you will do just fine... It gives it the same level of not knowing what is next that this forum seems to have.

***Please forgive the low blow at the beginning of this post... It was just such fun and I lack any form of self-control.

Yeah, because playing Chris Gaines was such a smash success for Garth Brooks that he never revisited said persona.

Or maybe it's just crazy enough to work. Art could pretend to be John B. Wells with a brain and interviewing skills.
