So it's really not Art Quits it's more like Art Gambles and Loses.  The man just lost everything he worked for... everything he believed in.

I've asked b4 to no avail.  Does his NC allow him to be a regular guest on radio and with a huge amount of his fans here could he not be a regular on GabCast?  Has this idea been discussed or proposed or even just talked about anywhere here.  Maybe I missed it.

Actually that's a good idea... Have Art and then another guest on at the same time... they have a conversation and take calls... technically it's not Art's show!

I was told this took place in the Phillipines. Is Art saying that is untrue?

Yeah someone threw a rock through a window 20 plus floors up? In the Philippines? And the FBI was called? In the Philippines?

You are a nut job RoseGirl.

Please stay just to entertain us. Dance Monkey Dance. I demand to be entertained.

Tertiaryiman.... good point.

The difference is no deals with SXM.
The difference is no deals with Premcrap.

We rely on ourselves. And thereby, retain our independence.
The growth should be intrinsically organic-- from our own efforts.

They maybe large. They may have money and power.
But they pedal crap-- and that makes them vulnerable.

The Marketplace seeks value.
When it is given a-- clear ---choice between crap and quality, crap and curiosity, crap and integrity...
It will choose quality, curiosity and integrity every time...
We just cant sign those sweetheart deals for rapid growth that include chains and muzzles.

Okay, fine...
NO ROCK,
No chunk of cement,
No #9
No cinder-block

Must I continue?

(Hey,  how about a little back up here..???)      ;D

In the words of one of my most favorite fictional personalities, Patsy Stone:
"Don't question me."

If Producer Paul All Seeing Hal Eye says it, take it to the bank, daddio.  Or the mental ward, whichever the case may be.

You are scaring me...

You said and I'll quote:
I'm not saying that anything didn't happen in the Philippines
however, Art's been back in the USA for some time now.
I'm talking years.....
With that in mind,  I'd challenge almost anyone to throw a rock with a
note through a 19th floor condo window and successfully
have it land on Art's living room whilst at ground level.

And if you are implying that this happened in the Philippines, I
highly doubt the FBI would get involved with a death threats over there
unless it was some US government official...

So which is it?

Are you saying he had threats here or in the Philippines?

How did you know I was told it had a note on it? Hmmm.

Anyway, I was told....by an FBI agent....that there had been threats over a period of time and that the last one was a 'okay...there will be a sign in a few days' and then a few days later....the rock with the note went through the window. I had assumed it was the Phillipines...I may have jumped to that conclusion, because apparently it was an attempt to prove they could get to his family.

So.....are you saying it did happen or didn't?

Was your source in Portland or even Fort Rock himself?

Take it to the bank.

Oh and there is this lovely bridge and opera house in Sydney I'd like to sell. You interested. Here is a lovely picture of them.

What a sad state of affairs.  We went from such an exciting time to this major letdown in just a couple weeks.  It's time to move on and keep searching for alternatives.  :(

I'm not an attorney, but I have paid a bunch of money to some of them over the years. I can tell you that skirting an issue once or twice would most likely be overlooked. But a regular appearance even as a guest would probably bring some court time... and I don't think Art wants to tempt fate that badly.
Thank you Onan.  What a shame.  That show you guys did with him was incredible.  It's a sad day indeed.

Thank you, just calling it like I see it. My words are not coming from a place of hate, just utter disappointment after waiting for ten long years for Art's return. I know that the camp where Art can do no wrong has a problem with some of my posts but I'm a long-time fan that had my satellite receivers ready to go on September 16th for the first episode of Dark Matter, ready to take a ride. It was just shocking how short a ride it turned out to be.
Amen brother! Being in china, I just listened to his shows on YouTube, so it's not like I had to dish out cash for a subscription and radio. If I had, I'd be really pissed off. However, like you, I had been waiting 10 years for his return, and feel gyped. I think Art has during his hiatus, morphed into a geezer, and this happens to a lot of guys. They become overly rigid, and much too quick to say "my way or the hi way". As someone posted earlier, he could see the end coming when Art started bitching about a spider, his back, etc. my dad is a little younger than mr. Bell, but is starting to show the traits of geezer syndrome. When he was younger, he would be game for all sorts of shit. But now that he's retired and older, his thinking sucks. He was gonna come stay for 6 months, and we were gonna go all over Southeast Asia. But after a while, he pared it down to one month. So I just bought him tickets to spend 3 weeks in Malaysia and Nepal, and only 2 weeks here, and although he's happy, he's a little nervous being far from a good hospital. My point is, as some people get older, they really start to suck. Maybe if you mix in a super sized ego, you're gonna end up with a buncha dupes stuck with satellite radios they never wanted, and a pissed off geezer telling the world to go fuck itself.

There's precious little to look forward to anymore. Art's done and I'm still a little PO'd that he didn't just ride with it. I couldn't care less if anybody phoned in, I was so happy with interviews.

There's another 2 years of Obama and Brilliant Falkie was heckled and needs a new Prius.
Not only that but the thread ain't gonna make it to 1000 either. No way. No how.

Why?  You need no back-up, you've given us the facts.

Not that it's any of our business, but hopefully you have found some good employment opportunities out there.   I'm sure you will land on your feet, you are a class act.

I like Falkie... a lot.  He's a good guy... kind... everyone here didn't come in 2 or 3 or 4 years ago...

I used to go into the AOL Chat room in the 90's... into the Grassy Knoll...  is anyone here, from there?

Yes!  That was the first Art Bell chat room I was ever in.  I don't remember any forums back in the day, but I was brand new to the internet then.

I've been a BellGabber nearly 4 years.

I already answered you.
But because you seem hell bent to create controversy,  I'll answer you again,

Sweet post! At the end if the day, let's let the man enjoy his retirement. I know we all got super nestalgic when he came back. Fuck, all the best things never seem to last! It was just too good to be true. And even worse is when some big corp just says NO. Well, here's to that new guy we all latch onto in the future.
