I can say that a podcast becomes profitable with a small percentage of what a radio broadcast costs. I heard one host on SiriusXM, that got the boot, who started a live stream and seems to be making it work. And that host can't shine Bell's shoes.

I don't own a crystal ball that actually works. But I would guess, Art could make it work.

I am not tethered to his returning but I am certainly interested in that outcome.

I don't see the motivation to keep pissing on any potential of him returning. If one isn't interested in that, why keep posting?

Exclusive - Art Bell Addresses Sirius Radio Dark Matter DepartureLegendary paranormal radio talk show host Art Bell began his latest broadcast endeavor with Sirius satellite radio several weeks ago. Entitled Dark Matter, the show was an instant hit with fans both new and old. Sadly, it seems as if Bell is now leaving the program. Read on for his comments.

We reached out to Bell for a statement regarding the situation, which has prompted some scathing reactions from fans who signed up for Sirius just to be able to listen to the king of paranormal talk radio once again.

"I started the show with the expectation that my listeners would be able to stream the show since most were coming from AM," Bell tells us. "They started the thirty-day trial and found that it was dropping out on them every few minutes. After the 30-day trial most did not renew; why would they? Faced with paying about 180 bucks a year for something that was not working right, what would you do? So I lost my base. My show is based on call in; if all I am left with is truck drivers (love them but the cell connections are not good) with cell phones going down the road at 70 MPH... well you get the idea. So I asked Sirius to allow free streaming for a year until they could fix their problems, and they said no. The show was simply not viable under these conditions."

Bell also added, "I am here and more than willing to do a show if Sirius changes their minds, a year under the circumstances seemed reasonable to me, just until they could fix the streaming."

Art is a man of his principles, and whether you agree with him or not, that is an admirable quality. Here's hoping for some quick and much needed resolve to this situation. We will keep you abreast of any further details should they arise.

In the interim you should also keep a close eye on the official Art Bell website for information as it breaks!

Life is strange.  A month ago no one would have ever thought that this thread would exist or this scenario.

Here is an outcome that would be interesting.  Mr. Bell is removed from his non-compete.  He does not like Premiere, but the management has seen the outpouring and support for Mr. Bell.  They create a separate division for Mr. Bell to host.  He answers to no one and has exclusive hosting rights to Coast to Coast AM once more.  He is in the hosting chair.

The show would become know as Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell.  The website would be adorned with cat pictures and all of the same paranormal that is on his website now.  You could google www.artbell.com and it would be the Coast website. 

Now, where does Mr. Noory fit in to this?  They know Mr. Bell.  He has some back problems, and he can be very demanding, so they keep Mr. Noory as the fill-in host.  He is under a non-compete until "Men Land On Mars."   He cannot leave, he is under that iron-clad contract that he negotiated, however he is the second fiddler to Mr. Bell.  In reality, Mr. Noory still hosts most nights.  Mr. Bell picks and chooses the nights that he wants.  Yes, this is what happened in a parallel dimension, and stranger things have happened in this one.  Remember the last two weeks?

They can be drug out for years, longer than the actual NC if not handled properly.

Anyway Art Bell now has clean hands by adjuring us publicly to stop.  This way Sirius can not counter sue for interference with prospective business advantage etc....

IMO we need to keep up the #FREEARTBELL movement. If we stop it makes for a potential argument that Art led and, or, coordinated it. We are his fan base NOT his army. Let's keep the heat on Sirius and show them what a REAL public fan base push looks like. Not a phony campaign of a handful of employees as others have been known to do.

I don't think art will give us any play-by-plays, so to speak, but if anything significant and final happens I'm sure he'll let us know. He'll likely start making his own meme-pics, too, and as history progresses he'll communicate more and more through memes and less and less through the traditional outmoded "language" of homosap.

After a great deal of crunching facts, the absolute only answer to them not respecting your needs and reacting to them is that the REAL or ACTUAL "first contact" with you, was based in conspiracy. Let's face it. their numbers are not the best, and to bring on a Rock Star who can generate HUGE numbers, is in primarily their best interest. However, that was not EVEN the tip of the "Plan" as I contend C2C was already in the bushes or being courted for the slot. The relatively slight clashing of shows was a natural attention grabber, and adding the lump (aka snoory) to their fold was for them part of the planned execution. When you accepted another NC, it was icing on their hedonistic cakes. You Sir, have been their stepping stone and IMO, you were used as a means to the described end. For you to ask your faithful followers to lie down and fade to background noise, would be to ask you to relinquish you your experience, dedication and love for an Informative, Lively, and Thought Provoking Talk Program only YOU can provide.

Is this a conspiracy theory out of control, I think not. It is the tiny and insignificant, attempting to claw upward on the shoulders of a very tall man. Brush them off Art, global conscientiousness awaits you.

Here's something I haven't herd disgusted. Will Art still be up for Fall 2015?? I recently saw a picture of Art and saw his interview with Knapp and he looks pretty good for 68 years old. So in Fall 2015 he will be 70. Not so old now days. Many musicians stay active well into their 60-70 YO age range and to be honest I think it is what keeps them alive. The Stones, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Bob Daylan and Robert Plant to name a few. All are up there and as good as ever. So why not. Worst case is Art does what he wants in 2 years....maybe he can get a year shaved off and in one year he can broadcast. This would give him plenty of time to stew and come up with some great stuff. As well as some time off to heal from all the crap that just happened. Opening in "2015 Shore to Shore with Art Bell" Take that C2C and stinky Noory, you suck up. That's what I cant stand about Noory. He sucks up to every guest like he actually believes them never giving them a hard time He just more or less turns it over to the guest to do an infomercial. Its funny sometimes he sounds so stupid and I know in my heart he is not but come on Noory...your screwed in 2 years if you don't step it up and Art is still determined to come back then. I just hope his wonderful mind holds out. Sometimes the years come along and there is nothing you can do. No matter what Art will always be the king of late night radio.
