This is my first time. Be gentle. I got through 10 tweets when:

This is the perfect case study for a grassroots campaign people.  We need to organize.  The #FreeArtBell twitter campaign and Facebook posts are a great start.  We can take it further.  Call into SXM shows unrelated to Art and put a FreeArtBell mention on the air.  We are a creative bunch - someone produce a YouTube video.  Reach out on Reddit and let's try to get Anonymous interested.  Start a specific Facebook page for the campaign.  Let's get going!

I often wonder just how many of the 25 million subscribers listen to the radio anyway.
My local diner has Sirius XM, and they play the 1950s.
I have heard Sirius XM in doctors' offices, too..
I have a suspicion that lots of 'users' aren't really using it.

That's always been the nature of radio.  Ratings on radio are extremely squishy because its a more passive format.   You get in your car to go to work, you're "listening", you get out of your car, turn the car off, the radio is off, but you're still "listening" as far as the Arbitron book goes because you listened to it that morning.   You may only really listen to an hour of radio split up in ten minute blocks throughout the day, but in the ratings, it looked like you were glued to the radio.  The same goes for Dark Matter or C2C.   The number of people who listen to the whole show start to finish is a minuscule fraction of the people who turn it on, catch a portion and call it a night.

Sirius doesn't care who's "listening".  They get their money up front and just want the exclusive content to attract subscribers.  When Art made the comment he was going to stream it for free, I immediately thought "Shit...  this doesn't end well."  Bottom line, its Art's job to get the listeners.

It's definitely a SPAM defense to stop the SPAM bots from well SPAMMING.

Try to vary your tweets when tweeting to former guests & celebrities.

Don't send the same person 50 tweets that are all the same either.

Remember we want them to help us out. We don't want to annoy them.

Right. It's even worse considering Art's connections to the Philippines. One stupid fucking news outlet in the Philippines ran the story like it was legitimate without checking the sources and, consequently, Art got a lot of undeserved backlash from that. They eventually apologized.

Noory deserves no forgiveness for having Oates on --- especially having Oates on when he had him on.

And what is Stern show?  Exactly what you described.   

And why is stern on Sirius?  So he can do "his show" without the FCC taking his shirt. 

Of course they're going to appeal to that audience, they want them to find added value in their subscription so they'll renew.

I agree with you.  I'm not sure his heart is in it.   Maybe its his back (radio broadcasting is notoriously hard on the back and his was messed up a long time ago). Maybe its the time it takes away from family.   Maybe he's a guy who took his hobby and totally ruined it by making it a job.  I get the sense he likes the "idea" of doing it, and misses it when he isn't...  And when he's doing it he wants to be doing something else.  Either way, it's his life and his choice to do it or not.
