It's much better when looking to the future. Lets all do that. Hope you beat that NC soon, Art. Then I can get back to playing Civ while listening to you chew out Hoagland  ;D
Which Civ?

AND I wonder how many of us do the same- A good 'turn based strat game' (CIV, HOMM, etc.) while we ignore our wives and listen to the radio....Good times. =)

I still play a heavily modded CIV 4 - Great game.

I've been wondering the same thing..  ???

Dave is George's official name at Premier.

There is many ways out of a non compete and especially since broadcasting is Mr. Bells livelihood many judges would probably see 2 years as a bit steep for a 68 year old man. His ability to earn a living to which he has become accustomed to is at stake. (I know he has plenty of money but for arguments sake) Roll that with the fact that the stream sucked and they said world wide and its not I don't see why any judge will hold him to it. And if they were evil enough to sell Bells No compete to premier which they can possibly (I checked) then it will be obvious they are just a vindictive bunch of thugs. Look it up...Ways Out of a non compete....lots of interesting reading. I am all for honoring contracts and keeping ones word but not when such painfully obvious backroom anal cavity widening and knee pad workouts are involved.

I did a google search and found an episode of C2C where they mention the dinosaur:

http://archive.coasttocoastam.com/shows/2005/02/11.html

Friday February 11th, 2005

"Throughout the evening, George played recordings of five past callers of 2005 and invited Fast Blasters to vote for their favorite. The entries included:

1 Caught a Baby Dinosaur
2 Legend of Baby Santos
3 Ouija Board
4 Judy's Ghost
5 Bermuda Triangle"

So if you can find that night's episode you can at least hear a repeat of it.  Maybe it was only one night but I thought it took place over a few shows.

They could at least have a 'go back 10 seconds' button. But oh well. I won't use it after this month. The sooner, the better. I'm enjoying Oprah Radio too much.
Oh no! Do we need to stage an intervention?

retired41

my oldest son's second middle name is George ,for my grandfather.

That would be thinking on their part.

Well if anything comes of all this  you will help that scared little girl inside of you out and realize you are a brave strong woman who can do anything ! Or not

I remember one Noory event, where a caller led him on a multi-night charade claiming to have trapped a small dinosaur in a cage.  The final piece of this event was when the guy sent Noory a pic of it.  It was a toy dinosaur in a dog cage.  He bought it hook line and sinker up till then.

Wasn't that Bukake monster caller the same night? When Noory was saying he had never heard of such a monster acting all surprised and then his producer whispered in his ear to move on to the next caller?

She broke up with me, but it's ok. We've only been dating loosely for six months and she was starting to get on my nerves anyway. I fare much better in life when I'm unattached. Other people just bore me after a while....

...Oh Jesus, does that mean I'm an asshole?

Yep, it shoooorizzz!

According to Art, the non-compete said any medium. I went through one of these lawsuits and along with one year of law school, I feel I have a pretty good understanding of the law. A non-compete that prohibits a professional from working in their chosen filed is not lawful, with restrictions. In regards to Art, Sirius can not say that he can not broadcast on any medium. If Art elected to return to radio, the non-compete would be applicable. But if he elects to the show on a stream, this medium is not radio and the court would find that prohibiting Art from working on any medium would violate his right to work and make a living. This type of non-compete is egregious and not lawful.

For example, one of my customers is an aerospace company and they have new employees sign non-compete agreements. This company does aerospace seating and prohibits the employee form working at another aerospace company that is doing seating only. The employee would however be able to pursue work at another aerospace company so long as their end product was not aircraft seating.

A court, any court in the US will find a non-compete as Art described as not lawful. It essentially precludes him from making a living.

I agree, but the BNW expansion does improve things quite a bit. Had to spank Shaka the other day because he was after my oil fields near Antium. He offered me a peece treaty along with some dinky little city that only had a few sheep next to it. And wouldn't you know it, he goes to the world Congress  and convinces the other civs to impose a trade embargo on me! What a little shit!

Like I said, you seem to want to stay angry. I got nothing for you. I let it go. I don't care, I am powerless to change Art or Sirius.

I choose to like Art. It is really that simple.

Your choice to be where you are.

Take a step back Mr. Onan, a week or so ago you too expressed similar outrage with Art.
Some posters are just on a different learning time table than you. No need to make issues about it.

I've been an Art fan since the 90s and have followed his career closely. As MV talked about  last night, I too am not really into the paranormal crap, but enjoy Art's broadcasting skills and wacky subject matter.

Art's issues with SMX streaming problems as a reason to quit still makes no sense, after all that as been written and said.
It's no biggie for me, rather it's entertainment to root out the 'real' reasons as to why he departed. SMX. And this thread exploring these various conspiracy theories is about as good as it can get, when we have the principals posting and talking (George and Art).

MV last night also talked about on the Gab Cast, posters picking apart Art's explanation and being the first poster to offer new ideas as being something negative. That is the heart and soul of this forum, it's what we do, the common thread that binds us together,  that's why Art labeled us vicious 'critics' and vaguely lovable.

Lesson over (smiley face crap)

Would a lawyer specializing in contractural law be what Art needs of something bigger like human or constitutional  rights, after all the contract is not what is in question but the right to work. I'm probably reaching in my thinking here.

Art,

Your latest posts have clarified a lot. I guess it was confusing because you said if you were younger you might seek freedom from the noncompete which did suggest that you were not going to pursue the issue. Then you clarfied that you would seek legal advice, which sent a mixed message. Anyway, I do hope you pursue a way around the noncompete, I think you have a strong chance to succeed. Concerning the posts here that are harsh, don't feed the trolls. We love hearing from you but you already explained it. I get it now and wish you luck addressing the noncompete so we can hear your show once again! (soon.)

Art simply needs a firm specializing in business law and specifically non-compete agreements like this firm: http://www.bakerlaw.com/practices/
