Who could have imagined any of this on September 15th?

not me

Not even Ed Dames could have imagined something this bizarre.  Plus, it all came true.

It was the killshot heard 'round the world.

When the going gets weird the weird turn pro. But when it's this effed up, the pros move to a tiny Mexican village lair with no internet. If you end up there, ask for Senor Aldous and the first cerveza will be on me. Know that I will miss throwing spitballs with you alls.
Disconnect.

Stay safe my friend and we'll see you when you return =P don't run into any Pablo Shicone's while your're down there (we're the millers reference).

So does this deal include "Somewhere In Time" returning on Saturday nights as well?
Won't that be a bitch, we can listen to OLD Art on Sirius but no new Art anywhere lol, oh the irony!

This is worse than being a Van Halen fan.

At least Dave returned eventually.

Now THERE is a fascinating question......

Ghost Gab

When I read a post Art wrote and these words were contained in that post,  "My contract allowed for a 30 day out, they waived that on Monday when Paul and I talked to them. Within 48 hours we came back to them with a viable idea and I said I could be on air the next day.", that is when I knew it was over.

That's cause he's a gigallo!

and he gave us this David Lee Roth - Jump 2006 (Live Bluegrass Version) before his return...so...

the shot across the bow!

A shot across the bow is a warning. What Sirius did was far more malevolent.

i dont remember seeing the following in this thread:

remember the 1st few minutes of the 1st show where Art laid out what premier had done?
well perhaps that angered the suits at clearchannel/premier, so they began or returned to negotiations to get c2c back on sirius/xm shortly thereafter.
they tossed enough cash at sirius/xm that it got sirius to not support Art like they may have otherwise, as well as hold Art to the 2 year NC clause, to keep Art of the air.
this would be why sirus is letting c2c stream live, whereas they would not let Art do the same. i dont know if Art offered to make it a pay service and give a cut to sirius or not, perhaps Art will let us know.

Indeed. Think I'll put some on now. Maybe some Judas Priest as well. That always gets the adrenaline going too.

If I understand correctly it sounds like from Noory's post that they were in negotiations with Sirius from his post earlier "The end of OCT that channel went away. We knew this was coming for months prior. WE began negotiations to get Sirius/XM to BUY the rights to air my show. When Art went on Sirius those negotiations continued."

Wonder if Art got wind of this and felt "Hey, I'm not getting support from Sirius with the streaming problem. Now I may be facing with having to deal with my direct competion coming back to Sirius - this doesn't feel right". Maybe this was part of the behind the scences stuff that Art mentioned.

Just a thought.

Of course C2C filled the gap.  SXM was about as "all in" as they could, then Art did his thing.  It's not that hard to think that they couldn't come quickly to a mutual agreement with premier and C2C.

There is no conspiracy there.  It's business and programming.  Holy shit.  You all are seeing faces in mars and shit.

I agree. I don't see a conspiracy here. Maybe that with Art, but not on the end of Sirius/Premrat.

Art quit, plain and simple. There WERE alternatives for him. Maybe not peaches and cream, but he had options.

It would need to take RCH to come up with a viable theory here

RCH: "It is in the data"
AB: "What data?"
RCH: You know.... The data"

It sucks. I have exams to grade today. Listening to AB always got me through hours of grading. I cannot even listen to the old shows. Need to find a good alternative.

Unfortunately, this. Art could have stayed on and built up a base with people who actually owned satellite receivers instead of 30-day free trials of streaming. Sirius would have continued advertising the show, and rhe calls would have improved as people discovered it. It would have taken time, but at least we'd still have DM.

Anyone who thinks Noory is smart enough to pull this off is nuts. It clearly fell right into his lap. I'm guessing they got the first call from Sirius Halloween weekend.

Just a damn shame.

in 28 minutes I will tell you exactly what happened ....so hold off on killing the messenger

Wow George you really must have felt very threatened by Art's return. So you did what all good predators do, you just laid in the weeds and waited to pounce. You were also very clever to join Bellgab and become the "enemy within". Well George remember this "Heavy hangs the head that wears the crown."

MV........... Release the Mc Craken  !!!!!!!!!!!                                                      Shamrock

That would have taken work by Art. Most shows on Sirius don't have a ton of callers. There aren't as many listeners and they have something like 150+ channels. It takes time and work.

As I've said before, I'd have been totally fine with a 2hr show by Art 3-4x a week.

I'm sure it does. It's always been the lead-in to C2C AM with "The Breather" on Saturdays.

I like to get rid of blackheads but I don't want to hear one on the radio.
I was trying to just hope dave would go away and if we want him we can summon him.
The shit I was referring to that would ooze from his seemingly surgically altered head is what faslehoods and outright lies that would emanate from his mush mouth and forked tongue as we squeeze his pin head...otherwise he needs to go and talk or lie cause if his mouth is moving it's lying, to his fans...oh that's right he doesn't have any real friends.  So he comes here and desperately tries to win over a few of the misguiged bellgabers that try to be polite, kind or good understanding people. But folks this mopes past actions and lies speak volumes as to why you just can't trust this guy with any good will...don't be fooled.

I think I'll take up something less painful than this whole nightmare.  Like banging my head against the wall.  ;)  Oh, and it's "19.5!!!  Just look at the data!!!"  :)
