i'm just looking forward to other subjects then the over saturated paranormal/ufo genre thats about these days

Yeah, I gotta say, I do love the UFO subject but straight up paranormal doesn't usually do it for me either. It really depends on the guest. Bill Birnes and Nick Redfern I could talk to all day. But a lot of the subjects are done to death - like how many Bigfoot shows can you do?

Art is a master and his way of doing his show appealed to a huge audience, but that doesn't mean to be great everyone should or needs to pattern their show after his. Art always said his best advice for success is be yourself. I want a distinctly Bateman brand show  8)

I imagine a lot of it must depend on where you live, no?

Expansive question. Do you want the short answer or the long answer?

partly..i live on the east coast...big city..but just so many positions available...and so many people applying for the spots..i had a call 2 weeks ago but they couldn't offer consistent work..no less then 10 hours a week no more then 25 and it would fluctuate

also been reading its near impossible now to find full time right off ..companies are cutting back more it seems

This is a Canadian story, but someone needs to talk about it.  I believe I heard this suggested by another Bellgabber earlier.

So is it kosher to suggest some possible future guests?

Yes. That is a tragedy for sure Gabrielle. It is a shame that it has not been addressed

Though the fracking has lessened now there is a similar problem that increased with the advent of the "man camps" in places like the Dakotas etc. Often because rural locations with a few LEOs that, suddenly, (like a century earlier in Penn, TX, gold and silver rushes, etc) tons of men (primarily) showed up for work and live in camps, cheap housing, etc. So a rural, farming region that could be policed by a Sheriff and some deputies suddenly has a population of small towns and almost all male, young, and have money but not much to do besides work so the drugs, gambling, prostitution, etc (and the subsequent problems.) But even before there always has been a problem of sexual abuse and violence near then Reservations (and on them also, sadly, it is not all just "whitey" but lots of abuse internally.) And, historically, the government didn't really care, the locals are often afraid (rightly) of the government or local LEOs, and so much poverty and abuse so exploiters can easily find prey etc. Sad situation.

I would suggest that the topic requires an unbiased host, willing to hear all sides of the issue.  I think we have that in Bateman.

Only one, in which you interview Bigfoot.

Is it about people who have been murdered by being completely covered in milk chocolate...?

True, I think you need to find your own mix. There are a ton of true crime podcast out there. With the explosion of Serial, a bazillion people launched true crime podcast. That is not to say, Steve shouldn't due true crime shows. I just think if he does the case should be unique or interesting in some way.

Also time for a new show.

Agree 1000%. One of the very reasons I've been resistant to a live show. Callers can grind the flow of a show to a goddamn halt.

I agree. I think taking calls should be used as a last resort if the interview starts tanking. Art's open line shows were my least favorite.

Oh and:
