He must be the silent sneezer type.

Okey Fellow Gabbers, I'm out for a while.  I'll try to make it to Chat.  Just playing it by ear for now.

And thank you again. ;)

OK, here is a possible show topic:

The Walking Dead sucks buffalo balls.

Let's do the same damn thing show after show, and then kill off random characters because it's so unpredictable and exciting. Yeah, it's so unpredictable that it happens every bloody show and it gets boring as hell. "Oh look, another bunch of wandering dead guys I have to stab with a screwdriver! Oh, and someone's grandpa - who I had a very touching scene with a few seconds ago - just had his face chewed off by a dead guy who just came out from behind a tree. And we all know that Glenn is alive FFS!!

And Game Of Thrones is rubbish too!

Oh no no no, I must not have 'splained myself properly.  It would not at all do if you were not on tonights GabCast!  I only meant to say, that I could not imagine anyone that you could have more fun conversing with,  than SiFi.

And you would think that in a frikkin zombie apocalypse the lawns would eventually need to be mowed. Maybe my community association members are actually zombies instead of nazis.

I'm not actually interested in it as far as plot goes, zombies are silly to me, but more that it's a case study in character hyperdevelopment within a genre where characters are always one dimensional as a rule. I've been seeing that a lot lately with television, such as in programs like "Lost", they just develop the hell out of these characters and that ends up being the draw as opposed to the plot or conceptual world itself.

And yes, Glenn is alive hiding underneath the dumpster. Though if it continues to follow the graphic novel he won't last too much longer in any case.

Yes, he is likely to be meeting Lucille. Although she won't be bringing Ricky with her this time!

Yeah Zombies get boring after a while. They are fun to include in fantasy but an entire story around zombies is so bad. Not much you can do. Wouldn't they all have rotted to the point where they are no longer a threat? Also I never understood why zombies don't eat each other.

GOT was really good but its getting crappy. The whole "OMG anyone can die!" is crap because if your a bastard character you are blessed with a character shield for a certain amount of time and it makes you unbeatable.

I haven't seen it for a while, but some of the acting from the younger cast members is really terrible, especially that little bastard whose name I forget that was mercifully poisoned a while back. And Sansa is awful too. But then they ship in some older actors who know what they are doing and it looks even more embarrassing next to the pros. Also, Bran is going to be about 40 by the time they have finished so I don't know how he is going to pass for an eight year old or whatever. The head squelching was pretty memorable, I grant you, but when it seems that almost every character is up for grabs then any sense of suspense is totally lost.

Joffrey is the little bastard. If you recall, the actor (Jack Gleeson) appeared in Batman Begins. The young boy Batman gave him his (electronic super bat whatchamacallit  secret device).

The production of this series is spectacular.  It's the most breathtaking and beautifully shot series. Where is Bran? I haven't read the books.

Sredni, you need to participate more on the 'I'm watching/watched' thread. Please, we need more participants over there.

I miss Sardoni.

I have read them. They weren't show notes, more a critique of your performance in the last show. And, yes, it will have you sobbing.  ;)

Kidding!

For god's sake, why GoT when there are 52 years of Doctor Who to plumb?

I was nervous as hell, about 3 days off my meds and naked except for my cowboy hat and boots. I realized that I was not worthy every time you provided your expert commentary. Your Texas Hayseed comments are always taken as compliments. Not everyone can live here (but God knows about a zillion new ones swim across the Rio Grande every day to do just that).

I am on my iphone, so please fix any spelling or grammatical errors that you find.

Thank you kind sir, and I will be setting up straight if I get a chance to call in tonight.

Promise.

I've read the books. The first one is good, and they way he tells a story from different character's perspectives really works because they are all in the same place, more or less. It goes haywire when they all split up and you can't keep track of them all. Also, he is a really wasteful writer and seems to fill up pages with irrelevant stuff. But fantasy readers often like the LoTR nonsense I guess. The last I heard, Bran was pretending to be various animals or something, and he has split up from the rest of them and was in a cave with some old dude, but my memory is hazy about it all.

The last few books have really slowed up and he clearly hasn't the foggiest how he is going to keep it all together. There is too much going on. He obviously dried up about how to continue one plot line, and then started another one, while leaving the other one in the air. It's total chaos. I am sure the next one will be same unless he pulls off a miracle. In one book Tyrion doesn't even appear. Martin is in the odd position of being almost hated by a lot of his readership, who want him to sit his fat ass down and finish the story instead of having fun and enjoying his life. A very odd position to be in.
