I was on Fantastic Forum for awhile, or at least was there in time to see the libel threat letter posted.  Was the other one God Like Productions?

I was on Fantastic Forum at that time too, and remember the letter posting.

He's not lying folks. The credits of the show have barely even started rolling and he hangs up on the Co hosts leaving us feeling used and abused. Eddie Dean used to cuddle for a few minutes afterwards. MV treats us like a cheap whore. Not that we don't deserve it mind you.

It's true. Eddie called me after Sunday's GabCast. He's good at what the BDSM community calls "aftercare". MV just throws you away like a tissue.

HEY!! I though we agreed to keep this on the down-low? what happenes after the show, stays there!
Now I feel compelled to issue a fair warning gentlemen, The post-Gabcast ball-cupping is over, I tells ya, OVER!!

Another great GabCast! Eddie's recordings of Dave were perfectly matched and timed! Hilarious...

MV...funny as always...PHABULOUS!...maybe a show per week could be supported up to July 20? I would listen weekly for sure...

It's the only time I ever find Noory entertaining, when someone has a hand up his back, working him like a puppet.

Just throwing in my two cents about the Hoagland thing. I might be totally wrong, but I think all Noory was trying to do was tell RCH not to go over the head of the bosses and piss them off or he might not get to host a show at all. As Hoagland has no hosting experience, they are probably not all that thrilled having him there in the first place and want Dave in the background for part of the time in case he ends up screwing the pooch.

Hoagland, the egomanic, wants as much time, and more, as possible. Dave couldn't care either way, as he would much rather not work in the first place, so what does he care? But, if Hoagland starts trying to sandbag the management by drumming up support from listeners then they might just take it away from him to slap him down.

All this talk of some dark plan to stymie Art sounds far fetched to me.

Originally Art had one of the first mainstream BBS system that you could call into on an early dial-up modem. I didn't get to experience that I remember dialing in to local BBS systems and early online communities here, so I can only imagine how awesome that must've been.

When AOL became the main online platform there was AOL Chat and forums which was a lot of fun. I remember AOL's old Grassy Knoll section which was what I would consider the golden era of the internet.

Then when AOL lost favor, There was Fantastic Forum. There was another big one aside from Fantastic Forum. I can't remember the name of it but I do remember it being something of a rival to Fantastic Forum back in the day. There was also always a few second-tier C2C sites that would pop up every year but none of them lasted long.

The Nighthawk Zone wasn't all that bad. There were some very nice passionate people on there. But the problem was the guy who ran it was a complete idiot who banned you if you said negative stuff about Noory. Pretty soon all the active posters were banned or had disappeared. I do wonder what happened to some of the cool people on that site and if they migrated over here.

Noory started guest hosting around '01. Then became the full-time host in '03. And all of the C2C forums died around '05-'06. I remember being in college searching for C2C forums to find more info on the pirate .mp3s I was listening to and having my mind blown that forums had all this activity until a certain point and then just all activity reduced by 90-95% by 2005. Now that I think about it, there were four or five different C2C web communities that all suffered this phenomenon and a couple big forums had C2C threads that had the same thing happen.

GNS seems like it started around '06 - '07? I remember it being this fringy but really fun really small site of rebels and cutthroats who hated Noory and there were maybe two or three new posts a day. All the credit in the world should go to MV for cultivating this site and developing such a neat and free community. Also for being the only person with the balls to stand up to the Noory Pandemic. BellGab is slowly turning into a religion.

This is what I was trying to say while I was digging my phone out of my ass. MV was all nostalgic for 1996 so I called in on the shittiest cell phone in the world for him.

That digs up memories, the Grassy Knoll was awesome at times and probably did some damage to my GPA from lack of sleep. I was on the fantastic forum for a bit, but there was just too much drama there. I checked it again some time after the legalities and it was dead but I never knew why. Bellgab is significantly better anyway, and as long as MV continues to give the finger and call George out over legal threats, it'll be fine. I really think Art will get a station in a major market or two and coast just won't be on anyone's radar in a year or so.

Re: The guy with the old VHS tape ... you can digitize that given the proper equipment. I have some equipment that I've used to digitize VHS in the past. You might check around in your area for companies that convert home movies to digital format or something like that. I am betting the quality is poor now on the VHS but who knows.

I read that wrong, and thought you were talking about the martial art, Bellgab-do.

We don't... Reported.

OK, I take it all back and promise to be on my worst behaviour in future. I don't want to have to fork over a hefty bribe to get back in. I used to think Bellgab was a benevolent dictatorship, but it seems more like a banana republic. Animal Farm all over again.  :o

So who would be the old dead guy on the mountain that we're all afraid of?

Er, just to be clear, I meant Dave.

The true intent of the gabcast from the beginning was to have a wide array of forum members showing up to host, but it hasn't quite worked out like that. Anyone who wants to host an episode, let me know.

Can I take calls, listen to a few minutes of their inane natterings and then tell them, "shut the fuckup, get drunk and call me back" I mean that's must hear radio, right?

"All BellGabbers are equal. But some BellGabbers are more equal than others"

I'm probably not clever enough to rank among the pigs. It would be interesting to cast some sort of Am-Dram version of Animal Farm using BellGab members. MV as Napoleon, obviously. Falkie as Mollie, the white mare susceptible to flattery and ribbons. With all his trailers, Jazmunda could be Squealer the propagandist. Onan could probably find a role as Benjamin the cynical donkey.

Paladin? One of the dogs used to rip the throats out of any troublesome animals.
