You could probably make up some new interview index cards for GN.  I haven't heard him ask his guests any of yours.

I'll bite. Posted this on the random thread. Not a beer drinker. However, I attended an opening for a new restaurant that had a craft beer tasting. Discovered I like Belgian beer (whatever it's called). Very light and smooth with a hint of citrus fragrance. Didn't have much as I'm a lightweight and when I do drink, it's a glass of wine or fun martini. So, yes...I like the Belgian craft beer.

I had a beer at the game last night.  Blue Moon and wish I had tried it with the orange slice.  I liked it.  Surprised me cuz I usually don't.

I am much more of a good red wine kind of girl.  I heard of a lady who puts lilac flowers in her wine and was intrigued.  Mojitos are good too.  Next stop AA

Haha. Oh yes, a glass of red wine. In fact, I'm painting and remembered there's a bottle of Pinot Noir in the kitchen. Really it's just for a sip or two. Just a little something to add to the magic and ambiance while creating.

On my birthday, we went out to dinner to celebrate. Tried a ginger blueberry martini. It seemed harmless but it kicked my butt. Drank less then half of it. On the martini menu there was a smoked bacon infused one. While I appreciate the art behind it all, that just seemed 'blech'.

@ SR-71,

Finally you have got a thread right! I can get behind this one. Chocolate Stouts rule the world, that being said they can make you VERY fat if you drink them often. The best beer I have tasted in years is from the Phillips Brewing Company  located on Vancouver Island Canada. The beer is named "Longboat".. if Jesus made beer, this would be it.

But for the most part I drink Scotch & Gin. Only because I love beer do I drink so many other things, you must understand I can NOT be a fatty. I have a beautiful Conan like physique that I must maintain to look good on stage so I only allow myself 8 beers per day. After 7 pm I can only drink Scotch and do pull-ups as I burn off the beer.

Beer is beautiful.

And BTW sir, Art does not drink. He remains clean and pristine.

The Least Interesting Man in the World

I like different kinds. Like to get some seasonal beers, Oktoberfest's and such. Sam Adams limited editions, Wheat beers. Really liked Grimbergen from Belgium  but have not seen it in years, Guinness if I can get one drawn on tap.
I like Ales, Porters, Stouts, Lagers, Pilsners. Beck's is good I hope the American made Becks is as good as the German. Sort of got myself drinking more wine and I have developed a fondness for the drier scuppernong and muskidine varieties from Hattera's Vinyards in NC. Though they are sweet  They have a couple kind that do not say sweet wine those I like as they taste much like the grape they are made from.  The main thing about all this Renaissance in the brewers art is so many new kinds and varieties so little time.I would like to start brewing my own again. I would like to make my own malt from Kamut. I would also like to grow some hops. Hops can be grafted to cannabis roots,hummm....

MV, you have to try the one I am drinking tonight:

Modus Hoperandi India Pale Ale, by SKA BREWING of Durango, CO.

I admit, it tastes awful after that first sip, but like Pastis (that French licorice flavored distilled beverage, not quite Absinthe, but still...) after a few of them it starts to taste pretty good...

I've mentioned it before, I got them in 15-packs (and in Aluminium cans, perfect for the heavy duty protective headgear, much like Modus Hoperandi, CANS!) I think more than Modus Hoperandi I enjoyed:

All Day IPA Session Ale by Founder's Brewing Co(?) of Grand Rapids, MI

I shall keep my eye out for more delicious beers for you to sample!

(somebody report this post for me, puh-leaze furgive me!)

No beer snob here. I don't like anything dark. Just give me a drinkable pilsner that will get me drunk

A wide variety. Stylistically, I like Hefeweizen, Brown Ale, or Imperial Stout.

A few favorites:
Allagash White
Avery White Rascal
Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout
Dogfish Head Bitche's Brew
Dogfish Head Midas Touch
Dogfish Head Namaste
Sierra Nevada/Russian River Brux
Brooklyn Black Ops

Those first few, I understand that they aren't IPAs like that I drank...

Still if there could be a Bud Lite or Clamato Budwieser (shudder) these Belgian Whites seem intruiging (weak) but still..

MV seems delicate, so perhaps we introduce him to beers like the thing I see locally:  Bud Lite wif Lime infusion?

That is a taste not so much for beer, haiku thread here I come!

Actually, none of the beers on my list are IPAs.

Allagash white is 5.1%, with White Rascal 5.6%. Not really weak, unless you're referring to hop content. The ingredients are superior to what you'd get in a macro brew.

I like some IPAs but hops aren't the defining factor for me.

For a beer hatur, MV is purty myuch craysee,,,

Guinness Foreign Export Extra-Stout (usually could only find it in the Caribbean but sometimes have seen it at my local grocery store. Never seen in Ireland. Once seen at the duty-free in Amsterdam.)

Fireman's 4

Busch Light (heck it is cheaper than Bud Light and sometimes one needs water on a hot day working in the yard etc.)

Sierra Nevada Torpedo

Shiner Kölsch (when available, surprisingly like Kölsch beer and tasty on a nice day)

Lonestar (cheap and alway available and the puzzles are fun to decipher)

If I could:
-gravity drawn and cellar temperature (almost warm) cask conditioned English bitter or real ale
- Altbier (unique but acquired taste)

When I'm not drinking vodka then this is the good stuff...

My tastes get darker as I get older, though a lager is nice in hot weather. I used to drink Deschutes Mirror Pond, though it sometimes made me sneeze.  Lately I have been hooked on Scuttlebutt, made here in Everett. I would like to try Moose Drool, because I would like to support something made in Missoula, but the name is just too disgusting.

For national beers, I like Corona, Stella Artois( a sponsor of the Seattle Film Festival) and Amstel( though that commercial with the raw chicken was creepy.)

If you like ale, you could do worse than Rainier Ale.

I suppose most of you know that some local beers have been bought out by InBev(Anheuser Busch) I won't name names, because I don't want to get it wrong, and have to correct myself.

It has always been interesting to me how brands change and go through ownership (and brewing) and how brands can be the most popular (Schiltiz) and then fade away or others can be low popularity (Pabst) but find a new market in hipsters without trying too (at first.) Or how a local brand can be bought (and even expanded, or destroyed) by other companies.
Such august popular brands as: Rainer, Pabst, Lonestar, Olympia, Pearl, Hamms, Falstaff, Old Style, National Bohemia, etc etc go through odd stages of popularity. Sometimes almost disappearing and then, like the mighty Phoenix, to reappear again- sometimes in odd places. (I've paid high $$ for a Lonestar in Georgetown decades ago because of the novelty, at the time.) As companies, conglomerates, etc take up their brand or the various shake-ups in distribution and brewing. Or when new brewers try to resurrect that market (or a combo of both.) All I mentioned are in the "cheap beer" category. And on purpose.

I don't drink anymore, but Blue Moon is always tasty with an orange slice... or without. Newcastle Brown Ale was always good too.

Has anyone else ever tried a "Cincinnati?" It's half beer and half birch beer. Blue Moon actually mixes quite well into it, so long as you use a decent birch beer.

Also known as a "Cincy." Used to drink plenty of these after bowling. Half the alky and twice the taste. Makes you fart more, though.

Sounds interesting. But I don't know. Birch beer was pretty good as a kid. Not sure I could handle it now....needs more alky in it. Similar idea to a Radler (but there it presumes you are riding a bike) or a shandy. Lemonade and beer. And interesting thing down in my FEMA Region VI due to the illegals is a new take on the "red eye" and the local convenience stores sell versions of Budlight etc with Tomato juice in it and, due to the rumor of virility or taste, with Clamato, in it for the laborers morning drink. As a dare I tried it. Awful. And this someone who doesn't mind a decent bit of clam juice in a good Bloody. But that stuff was appalling. (Worse I poured in a pint glass for my testing and review.)

cweb

Wow, the Red Eye sounds bloody awful. (Almost as bad as my attempt at a pun there...)

The two big requirements for a good Cincy include liking birch beer and picking a beer that's strong but not too strong. It's not for everyone, just like a lot of the half-this half-that beer mixtures you see in some chain restaurants.

Snapshot IPA. Mt Carmel brewing ... I think.

I remember the hipster Pabst fad.  I never would drink Pabst.  I'm sure it's fine but I had a bad association with it because when I was working in a bar a customer drinking Pabst wet his pants. It stood out in my  mind because Pabst was an Eastern beer we sold very little of.  My alcoholic uncle also drank a lot of Lucky and wet his pants, so I had a bad association with that.  Also when my boss in Missoula bought the bar, the previous owner had had some sweetheart deal with the distributor and we had Lucky til heck wouldn't have it.  We finally marked it down and sold it. I got sick on Olympia when I was a teenager.  Still won't touch the stuff, except occasionally on tap, actually when somebody gets a keg.
