I found a George Noory Cookbook

I was at a used book store a few weeks back, and this just had caught my eye.  It was a cook book by Jorch.  Of course I looked through it and read his lame reminiscing over dishes he never cooked.  It was probably written by UFO Phil.

Anyways, was anyone even aware of this?  It was $3 for the book, but that was $3 more than I was interested in wasting on that loser anyways.  But for the sake of bellgab, I'd pick it up for the lols.

EDIT:

Here it is! :barf:

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, that there isn't anything in there for pizza rolls :'(

But he does have a Curry recipe

Actually, I think if Noory knew one thing, it would be snack foods. Bill Birnes though? lol.

Not that I'd ever thumb through the stupid thing, but I thought it wasn't released yet.  According to Amazon, "This title will be released on November 5, 2013."

They send out ARCs (Advance Reading Copy) to various media - especially book reviewers, TV and radio show hosts, etc, in hopes of getting published reviews and to get the author on the interview circuit.   Sometimes when a book comes out it already has comments from reviewers on the dust jacket - it's because those reviewers got advanced copies, wrote reviews, and the book publisher picked them up and used them.

If a book is coming out that I just can't wait for, sometimes I can find one of these advance copies being sold on-line somewhere.  Even though the ARCs say 'not for sale' on the cover

Maybe that's what this was..

Well it sure made it to the used book store fast.

Yeah, this was certainly the book and it was in my hands.  It was at the Book Barn in Niantic, CT at the downtown store location (they have 3 branches along one street).  I won't be back down that way for another week, but will snag it for S&G's when I am back down there for the weekend. I'm pretty sure that nobody is going to buy it.

Maybeeeee it came threwww a pohrrtalhhhllll????  Or a Time Traveler?

I just know that it certainly wasnt a coincidence because there is no such thing as a coincidence :P

They might be printed and ready to ship.  Perhaps they didn't get much as far as orders from book stores and are dumping them early - it's never too early to dump a George Noory project

That's possible.  I have to giggle a bit, thinking of this solitary book as an advance party scout holding down the fort in the used bookstore, awaiting the upcoming surge of its mates once this bit of dreck is released to the public.

Is there a "Penny A Book" franchise? I picture a Noory cookbook having treats like "Peanuts With the Chocolate Sucked Off Them"  "Mustard Sandwiches" and "Moustache Droppings"

;D  If only Jorch could figure this out.  Or maybe the aliens dumped this cookbook early, after seeing what Jorch is really like.  ;)

I've picked up a lot of advance copies of books for a buck at Half Price Books and even videos and cds marked " for consideration by the Academy  " for Oscar consideration.
Strange stuff shows up at times that you'd never expect. I picked up some old serials Tuesday including one with William " Stage " Boyd before he was Hopalong Cassidy.
I got a copy of Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter that way.
I keep wondering when we're going to have the first Jewish president or gay president.
Probably what will happen is a lesbian transgendered woman who's nominally Jewish.
