When I was young, my problem with acid was running out of it. Nowadays, my acid problems are of the reflux variety. Lift me Lord, I'm ready.

I feel your pain.

Just throwing this out there, blame the acid, but why does the design have to be distinguished from the designer, creation from creator?  If I have doubt about anything it's whether or not WE exist.

The Rinpoches of Buddhism (ones who have gotten to know the nature of their mind's through practice)   will tell you no, ultimately we do not exist. Everything is the display of vastness of mind.  The law of Interdependence affects everything. Nothing exists in and of itself. Nothing is permanent, all is illusory.  Relative truth is, yes we definitely do exist and as human's share common experiences and characteristics. In other words, relatively speaking we exist, ultimately we don't exist.

I feel your pain.

It's so horrible. My drugs of choice now are Prilosec and Nyquil.

I know we exist... I have been hit by others... that would never happen if I were in control.
And the whole Noory thing.

This is effing funny dude. You are a testament to positive chromosome damage.

My chromosomes split about as peacefully as Yugoslavia did.

I'm not blaming my use. My mother graduated high school in 1973. That in itself...

I predict Matthew will  have dreams of  Big bird.

Dudes that drag on about god, or the lack thereof usually sound like dicks.

*sigh* I wish a few people would listen to my dick.

Anybody within a city block can hear mine. First thing in the morning with my daily 52 second cacophonous foamy pee. Talk about live streaming.

Do any of you green fetish guys remember the green lady from Lost in Space?  She was hot. Am I right?
you are always right... you and Aldous

Anyone that spouts with certainty past "I don't know" is kinda full of shit. I have my pov but I can't prove it. I can allude to evidence that fundamentalists can't but in the end I still can't prove my point.

So why don't they just autopsy the damn cat?
If you choose, the cat has been autopsied already.

Warning- thread crossing:

Because it is instructive and relates to much of last night's show and this thread ( faith, dead ritual, and divine denial/perception) I'm cross-posting this from "What I'm Watching" thread.
PS- Watch through the closing for the last scene.

I feel sorry for Matthew, he leads a sad empty life...
... As the kids were playing around a single Monarch butterfly appeared and came over by our family. The butterfly came over by each of us, and one by one landed on the kids heads, then on my wife and mines hand, and just stayed there.
That's a beautiful image, Scotty.  I won't say God sent you the butterfly but I will say it was a perfect experience for you and your family - and now me too.

In this context, it is a perfect example of my problem with the atheist community.  No magic - no wonder - no fun.  Boring and dry.

It was drizzling the autumn day of my mom's funeral; a perfect expression of our sadness.  After she was buried we turned around to behold an extraordinary rainbow stretching out across the valley below with Mt. Diablo stoically abiding like it always does.  I don't need somebody (especially someone with a philosophical ax to grind) hitting me over the head with what it means - whether it be infused with relevance or a coincidence.  It was important to me personally and that is all it needs to be.

High marks.
Spooky action at a distance that.

I will say it was god fluttering around god so... the butterfly could experience its' bliss.

Hey, great posts from last nights show. I am loving every minute having Art back. I don't post here during the show because I feel like I can't follow the interview and be posting at the same time.

Art is so funny sometimes. I know I don't have the quote right, but I loved it when Art said, "why do they say 'stand by', when you are probably just sitting there"
He has these little throw-away comments that are so funny, brilliant. What a talent. I just love the guy.
Ok, gotta take a nap cuz I am up very late these past 2 weeks for some reason.

if the commercial span were similar to that of coast, you'd be able to take care of all forum business during breaks.

Way interesting. And good work shortening up the posts lately.
I
I hadn't realized on one level that they were overly long because I've posted that way for years and didn't think it bugged people.
Part of the brevity is being incredibly tired. Stayng up to listen to Art and then not being able to get to sleep has caught up with me. Locally, it's been freezing here. Nay winds come up 2 nights in a row I've had to pile the blankets on me to sleep. Daytime has been colder too. Summer is ending and Fall is approaching. Time to find the electric blanket controls. It gets freezing in my apartment come winter time.
As an aside, I got the first comment on one of my You Tube videos yesterday. Was kind of nice to see someone is watching and interested in what I had to say.
;D

You do exemplify what attracted me to them...but my chemistry just doesn't do it right - so thanks explorer of the edge.

aldousburbank

I'm interested in the Falkie, just short attention span is all. Listen, what you've described, makes my life seem like a George Noory interview.

You are a kind and thoughtful member of this forum, unlike most many of us. It is creatures such as you that keep me hoping I will find my way out of this Khole and locate the begining of the edge, again.

I for one am intimated by walls of words so often don't read unless it grabs me.  Short attention span or something.  It has been chilly lately - you are in the Bay rea too aren't you?  East Bay?
I didn't know you had  YouTubes.
Not a surprise as I don't think there is ever a loss for words.
