Ward, you should call this dude and ask him the perrenial hippie question- When god drops acid, does he see people?
i love that question, always have. Besides i am sure the phones were full about 2 minutes after Art opened the lines :)

RedMichael

Ill give this guy credit. C2C guests just insult or dance around anything slightly challenging. This guy is provoking challenges and is quick to respond. I missed Art.

midnight

I would wish for this guest that when he goes out tonight and looks at the sky, he'd see one of those mile long triangles that just hang in the air.  I would really, really like for him to come on coast after that, and see how his life would be changed.  Even if he believed that earthlings made it, he'd have to change his mind about physics as he knows it.  Does he just not believe the people, including Art, who have seen these things?

PrairieGhost

Why is Alper dodging the parents question?

Never mind lol

Art's not offended that Matt doesn't believe he saw those things, so why does everyone else seem to get offended?

"The christian bible is the only true bible"
Lady you are hurting any case you are trying to make. Missed the whole point.

Only true bible ?
Oy gevalt !
It always amazes me how Christian fundies seem to forget that their bible has its roots in the Old Testament which was in Hebrew !
If I wanted to be a fanatic about it, ALL the Christians are reading fiction because the Torah IS the original and going back there was no sequel to it.
There are so many people out there who don't know anything about either history or their own religion, its beliefs and history and roots as well.
Low information believers and readers as well who've probably never read the Old Testament.

I think this guy might suffer from depression. Maybe he should try some laughing yoga.

coaster Alper is a true believer, no amount of evidence or personal stories will change his mind. He finds evidence to support his assumed conclusions. His IS the definition of a fanatic.

My thoughts exactly.

A lot of Christians actually believe in evolution, the earth is billions years old, etc.
Why wouldn't we want to listen to Art Bell? Art has never really done anything to offend Christians.
Not that it effects me but he even runs a pretty clean show, no cursing, no vulgar topics, etc.
There is nothing in bible against listening to someone talk about Aliens, ghost, men in black, government cover ups, etc.

IMO...There are Christians and there are Fundamentalists. ---so I do agree with you.  The Fundies often think it is a sin to see spirits, let alone interact w/them as well as many other topics covered on coast...etc.  They find many scriptures to state their cases in life--which I usually have difficulty connecting their dots but to each her/his own for them or any religion for that matter.

I'm not offended at all.  I would just like to see how he would change if he saw one himself.  It does change you.

I love it when people believe their BS. I also enjoy arguing points I have no belief or attachment to just to make them more fired up. At the same time, I do my best to doubt myself at every turn and distrust those who agree with me. Life is not all about being agreeable or unity of belief.

They slowed down as I got older and eventually stopped altogether in my teens. I then wanted to start having them again, so I started reading books by people like Robert Monroe, and after a lot of trial and error was able to have an obe. I can slip into the "vibrational state" and have them quiet easily now. What it is I still don't know, but it is not a dream, considering the mind is still awake. The body however is asleep.

Do you hear Art's show when you're an OBE ?

Same here. I easily get in the trance state and much is atributed to my regimen of meditation, yoga etc. Yet, we both are artists and that 'zone' is natural too. As a performer, we adopt the 'suspension of disbelief' which certainly produces our capacity to ...say 'channel'. In fact, Neil Simon was asked about his writing characters while working on a new play. He said it was as though he is merely the recorder as each character is seconds ahead of him. Of course, varying degrees of that state. But, we have a familiarity to it as though it's natural. Open to that realm outside us. Also, I sense it in the provocative depths in your art in the Art thread.

Would you be offended if he had an experience similar to that but chalked it up to medication, things being pressed in the subconscious, etc. basically anything but what happened to him is the same thing that happened to you?

Right on, we are on the same page.

Both sides of this leave a bad taste in my mouth. Militant atheists always seem to claim absolute knowledge. So do fundamentalist religious people. They both seem faith-based and full of holes to me.

I think the universe is far too weird for that kind of certainty, thus I prefer the religion of  "I dunno what the hell is going on."

Thats actually the second time that I've caught Art mentioning it. Has not helped. It was about 45 minutes ago when art first opened the lines, during a call.
