On his first official night in the "captain's chair," George Noory offered a special message about his connection with Art Bell, telling the listeners that Art had a major role in his hiring and eventual "grooming" to take his place. George described his early interactions with Art. "My connection with Art Bell was almost like?talking to your idol baseball player when you're a kid. Because he truly is a living legend. I've got to tell you he was so supportive, informative and helpful. He pointed out things that he thought I was doing wrong and he pointed out things he thought I was doing right. And he really told me one major thing: 'George, put your own mark on this program. You're going to have lots of people who'll support you, millions of people, and you're going to have some that won't. It doesn't matter. You do what you think is best!'

Speaking directly to Art via the airwaves, George said: "I will do you proud, the best I can, Art. There comes a time in this life wherever you might be that you have an opportunity to work with someone who is literally?like a god in this business. Someone you can look up to and respect. I've had the opportunity and so now, no matter what happens in this broadcasting business for me, I had a chance to work with Art Bell."

Yeah, I heard the first time they met was when Art received that lifetime achievement award...and that was in..2007?

And yeah, the 2007 awards ceremony for is the first time they met. I think even Noory said that was so, around that time.

I always kinda got the impression that GN and Art don't really like each other. And then there's that ham radio conversation Art was having about GN with some random ham person...it had to do with him doing the show in Los Angeles or something. I think I found that on MV's ufoship site, actually. Anyways, Art didn't sound too happy with GN. I remember him saying something like 'well, it's going to be this guy's show now, he can do what he wants, etc etc." He didn't sound too upbeat about the whole thing at all, IMO.

Sometimes I think Art has found this site and really gets a kick out of it. A man like himself would obviously know that GN is not qualified to take his position, humble as he may be.

Anyways, that's my stance on their relations. Art knows GN is a goof and he probably doesn't enjoy dealing with him at all, even over the phone. And GN..well, he probably thinks Art loves him like a son.

someone told me that art mentioned a site "specifically targeting george" and supposedly art doesn't like it.  i don't know for sure if that's true or not, or even if it was a reference to this site specifically.  however, art's approval or disapproval is irrelevant to me with regard to the continued operation and existence of this site.

I can't imagine getting a great award like that and then having the moment shat upon by an incoherent dope like Snoory. I won't speak for Art and say Snoory was a stink bomb during the award, but I'd sure as hell be disappointed.

Sometimes I think Art has found this site and really gets a kick out of it. A man like himself would obviously know that GN is not qualified to take his position, humble as he may be.

I dunno.. As lowbrow/funny as this site is, Art strikes me as the type of guy who might think this is in poor taste. I mean, he's not exactly a part of our sarcastic X generation - he's from a time when being respectful was just a given.. But who knows. I suppose if he saw it more as Pro Coast to Coast (as far as the original format of the show, with Art) more than Anti-George/Namecalling/etc then he'd probably like it.

Snoory has A LOT of nerve acting like Art Bell is THAT much older than him. Father figure, indeed! Art is what? In his 60's (and by the looks of things, very much still a Cat Daddy). The Snoron is in his '50's and looks beaten down by life. Get a grip, George.

snoors is 58.  hence his prostate concerns.

art is 63.  only 5 years difference.  certainly nothing for snoors to start crowing over like he's some sort of pup and art is a dried up old man.  and yes, i do agree, art is a pretty good looking guy at his age.  snoors DOES look like life wasn't kind to him.
