SiriusXM Radio Select

MABUSE

Well, for what it's worth, SiriusXM  will NOT be broadcasting Art's show via the internet, as I was just informed by "Customer Service."  They told me one cannot listen to that show online, streaming, or on smart devices, only via one of their radios with a premium service contract.

So, I am displeased.
Anyone have better or different intel?

PrairieGhost

This is wrong. The schedule shows it on tonight on indie channel and that's on streaming.

CrazyMax46

Based off of Customer Service being so awful at SiriusXM on this, it wouldn't surprise me if this was a load of BS and someone over there that you were talking to got confused.

MABUSE

I am not disputing anyone's information, I am just telling you what their "customer service rep" said to me.
This confusion does NOT bode well....
Also, if one does a "program search" it does not show up there either.

Epsilon

On SiriusXM.com I can listen online live to channel 104. Unless this changes it looks good to me.

Not true Mabus, go to artbell.com and click on how to listen to artbell. I did this all yesterday, suscribed for internet radio only for the free 30 day trial and I am already to go for tonights first broadcast. Shamrock

What about listening live online? This only references the app. A little worrisome perhaps?

MABUSE

Its bad res but a screen cap of the "customer service chat"

I am so ready to smile at the radio/computer rather than scowl.  This is a good day.  Is it 1900 yet?

Listen:

http://artbell.com/

Just posted a link in the top right section that says "Launch SiriusXM Player" which goes to the online player.

If you couldn't listen online then this would be completely invalidated and thus even ArtBell.com is not aware of this situation.

I dunno, but I think Tony has it wrong.

If it does prove to be the case, option two: shoutcast stream which should be clicking along nicely tonight for those outside the U.S.

considering the artbell.com website links an offer for free 30day Sirius internet only package specifically for Art Bell listeners, that info is highly doubtful!

Epsilon

Does the shoutcast stream just relay the online stream or get it from another source?

MABUSE

I have no wish to argue and that is not my point, I am simply relaying information I thought was pertinent.  I really hope I CAN listen tonight here on my desktop, but I am disturbed by the info I obtained from Sirius.  I REALLY hope that info is wrong.  I am not vouchsafing for its accuracy, simply relaying the info I was given.

if you're talking about my stream, no beans. I'm just using the web player and broadcasting that. I tell you what.. if there's no Online option for this show, SiriusXM will actually be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. In terms of making things easy for their customers, they are anything but easy. The only good thing that's good about them is their satellite coverage, and that will be ever diminishing as cell towers creep into the more rural areas.

jazmunda

Tony, if that is his real name, is wrong.

You can listen to channel 104 online with a regular Internet package. So unless Sirius switches off the stream during Art's show (which won't happen) then "Tony's" intel is wrong.

Also you shouldn't be starting new threads in this sub forum as per MV's wishes.

Even ArtBell.com has a link to the online stream.

Surely they got it right.

Actually I have no doubt that they provided unreliable information.  I cancelled my original subscription years ago because of shitty customer service.  It's really like the people who answer the phone just make stuff up.

onan

Mabus's evidence is compelling. I don't see any other programming listed for the Indie channel.

I have the premium account. I see Art's show listed.

HMC

I just checked the Indie channel with the online player and it shows "Art Bell's Dark Matter". I have no doubt that CS guy was just lazy and/or stupid. But make that you click "Live" on the player, or you'll end up with stuff from a few years ago. I don't know if this happens with others, but mine always starts from a few hours ago, which drives me batty.

coaster

I sure hope it plays. I'm going to be pissed if it doesn't.

I guess that isnt that funny.

Oh well.

Chine

Ahahahaha. Nigel is so enthused!

I thought Nigel's future was in British Steel. But if young Nigel says he's happy, he must be happy. Happy in his work. We only want what's best for him.
