Obama is a Liar-in-chief not a commander-in-chief. He lied about "red lines". Obama sucks

He didn't lie; he just shot his his mouth prematurely. He has I would agree compounded it by trying to back peddle since. But as for lying per se; he's a politician..ALL politicians lie. You can easily tell, it's when their lips move.

I hope the next prez does not suck.

Tinfoil Hat

Let's face it they all suck. Every president for the last 45 years has done nothing but degrade our rights and sell us down the river, regardless of party. To say otherwise is to engage in meaningless partisanship which only plays into their strategy of divide and conquer in my opinion.

Your mostly right.

Obama has just announced that November is to be Moslem Appreciation Month(wth).

correct! absolutely.
People voted in Hope and Change  and You get  the same 'ole neo-CON con Nazi routine but on steroids but without civic sensibilities. Always shooting for the least common denominator among the deluded clueless masses.
Some places you can get an item on the ballot by way of a petition. Perhaps a petition drive to get "None of the Above" an option on the ballot if only a 'straw' vote item.

I understand the frustration. I even admit Obama has done some things that I find intolerable. But if they are the same, why is it deluded? Should we just let the previous admin stay until they clone themselves? I get it that Obama is unpopular. I also agree that the executive branch has corrupted the checks and balances of power. But to my mind Romney would have been even a quicker ride into financial destruction. We can debate the hypothetical all night long; in the end there are too many variables to have any certainty either way.

How so?  He at least understands how the economy works, what it takes to meet a payroll, the conditions under which an economy grows and companies hire more people, or what encourages entrepreneurs start up new businesses.  Obama doesn't.  He isn't even interested.  I don't think anyone in his party is anymore.

How about the job destruction due to ObamaCare alone - people being laid off or their hours reduced so employers won't have to pay the healthcare payroll 'tax' on them.  Or the people that would have been hired, but aren't, for the same reason?  Obama refuses to even address any of the worst flaws in his scheme - would Romney also be stonewalling on it?

A Marxist never creates anything, they just look around, see what others have created, and decide it needs to be redistributed.  It's the easiest thing in the world for some demagogue to point at successful people, then tell others it's those peoples fault they haven't been successful yet.  That's probably the main difference between the Rs and theDs in DC tight now.  The Rs aren't doing that.

If the people that hate Romney assume he's just a crook out to line his pockets illegally, where is the evidence of that?  Did he do that as gov?  The burden of proof should be on them.

I'm not saying he isn't a crook - and I sure don't think he'd be a great president, but the people that think he'd be worse than Obama... really?  We are supposed to assume the unknown guy would be worse than the worst President in history?  Why?  How is that 'full investigation' of Fast and Furious coming along?  Or the full investigation on Benghazi?  Or the full investigation on spying on the AP?

The 'domestic spying' issue during the Bush administration was whether we should intercept incoming foreign phone calls from suspected terrorists as they were occurring in real time, and get a federal judge to review and issue warrants after the fact.  The Ds and their allies in he Media acted like this was a huge deal.  With Obama it's not even an issue that they are photographing both sides of our mail, recording and storing our phone calls, storing our email, watching here we go on line.  Phonies.

Obama has clearly thrown in with the Sunni terrorists - the Moslem Brotherhood and their offshoots in Algeria, Libya, Egypt, and al-Qaeda in Syria.   He was even going to bomb requested al-Qaeda targets in Syria for them.  And all the people who have been talking about a minor episode like Iran/Contra and who have been lying about the US 'creating' al-Qaeda in Afghanistan for the past 30 years went dead silent.  Phonies.

None of it is even being discussed, it's all ok because it's Obama.  After promising full investigations, he's decided these are 'phony scandals' and that's that.

Not to mention the massive debt he's racked up, or the printing of money under QE I, II, and III, or the stated refusal to investigate the people that were largely responsible for kicking off the collapse of 2008 - Goldman Sachs.  Or all the dictatorial illegal actions he's taken to just blithely bypass Congress because our democracy is inconvenient for him.

And we're supposed to believe, well, Obama has done some things people don't like, he's unpopular, but Romney would have been worse?  Worse than all this?  I'd like to see the evidence, or even just the thought process that gets a person to that point.

quite honestly P*B, it all comes down to opinions. And I am tired of debating it. Some portion of your fear of Obamacare is not factual but rather the reiteration of misrepresentations. But no matter what I write you will come back with more information that isn't any more provable than other regurgitated statements. I don't fault you. I truly believe you think Obamacare is going to ruin us, I don't. But, my observations about social programs in this country is they are always underfunded, and set up to fail. Then everyone gets to proclaim how bad socialism is.

Romney is the antithesis of American success. And his practice of gutting then selling off businesses should scare everyone. His past of hiding profits to avoid taxes in this country (although he is certainly not alone) is damaging to this country in ways that are hard to evaluate. But it's there.

Romney is a bad actor, presenting care for Americans by cutting the very things a civil society needs, I speak to his statement regarding cutting police, fire, and emergency agencies. the private market is a disaster to those types of systems. But again we will disagree... I have grown to like you over the past 2 years and confronting you is no longer something I wish to engage in... So I guess I am done.

I'm not in favor of cutting police, fire, and emergency agencies either.  There are certain things that are done best by government, and that includes these services.

I admit to not really paying to much attention to the daily politics of presidential races and some of the rest of it.  So I don't know what he said about cutting that stuff.  I will say that during  campaign things are taken out of context, lies are told, things are made up or exaggerated.  I will tell you for example police pensions and pension abuse should be cut back, and someone else might say that means I'm for cutting police etc.  Again, I don't know what he said or meant,  but I'm sure it was presented in the worst possible light.

As far as gutting and selling businesses, that's what should happen to a failed or grossly mismanaged business.  It's a dynamic economy and assets need to be redeployed from time to time.  Yeah, it's sad for the employees.  That's why we have unemployment, re-training and a safety net.  In a booming economy it's generally not a problem for most to get a new - and usually better - job.  When someone is working for a failing business, they should probably be looking for a new one anyway.

I think Romney's expertise at Bain was creating new companies.  He started Staples.  I like being able to buy office supplies without getting ripped off.  Remember in the days before Office Supply and Staples when we'd buy a few sheets of paper and some pens at a stationary store and get absolutely fleeced?  I bet the employees at Staples are glad it's there too.

As far as offshore bank accounts and income taxes - lots of people have offshore accounts for one reason or another.  Sometimes it's to hide money or not pay taxes, but not always, or even most of the time.  A lot of rich people don't pay taxes in certain years because they don't haveW2 wages.  They tend to buy tax free bonds.  They can choose to sell stocks and pay the capital gains or to hold and not pay them.  It was Harry Reid (now there's a corrupt, non-tax paying person if that's what we're looking for) that put this stuff out there about foreign accounts and non-payment of tax.  He is the only source for it.  If he has inside info, he got it illegally.  I'd say he's either lying or guessing or both, it was a campaign year.  People like Romney don't need to cheat on their taxes - there are plenty of legal ways to avoid them.  That's not Romney's fault.

I dunno, watching Romney I thought he came across as a pretty good guy.  A Rino, but a good person.  That's my take, but I really don't know.  Others still think Obama is  good person, so I guess it's all perception.

Even if the worst were true, IF those were the choices, I'd still rather have someone looting the Treasury than destroying the entire economy and dangerously projecting weakness abroad.

I said it's a job killer, and mentioned a bunch of things Obama and Pelosi said to sell it that were lies.  It is a job killer, and they did lie about it to get it passed.  I won't bore you with all the chaos this is causing and will continue to cause, but that's not a bunch of made up hooey either.

This is probably the worst and most damaging piece of legislation to ever be signed into US law.  Which is why Big Business, Big Labor and Big Government have all gotten waivers.  Illegal waivers that were just decreed by Obama without going through the required legislative process

And you call me myopic?  This media bias thing wears real thin.  Conservatives always feel aggrieved by the "Mainstream Media" but ask any Democrat, they're awful damn tired of the "repeat anything" media that takes every con allegation and repeats, just looking for a response to flash up the newscast or article.  The media's real bias is laziness.

Maybe the execs at Board level.  Ask any manager privately and they would love to leave.  Long hours, low pay, almost no benefits. And that's for full time managers.  Ask the former employees of KB Toys how they feel about Bain capital.  (3500 out of work). Ask the employees of GSI Steel Industries how they feel.

Each time Bain seduced board members of these companies with promises of big bonuses for hiring Bain to "consult" (what you and I would call bribery but actually quite legal as solicitation when done in the open).

Bain would then leverage the company to the hilt, using the funds to pay Bain's "management and consutling fees".  When the resulting over leveraged company was forced to file for bankruptcy, Bain would pay itself a bankruptcy consulting fee.

Bain's usual bankruptcy "reorganization" involved laying off thousands, reducing or eliminating health and pension benefits, yet simultaneouosly paying themselves tens of millions to "reorganize" the company.

Treating an existing business like an ATM and "bonusing" corporate officers to scheme with you hardly sounds like "job creation".  Really, what economic value did (does) Bain add to our society? Attacking otherwise solvent companies and devouring them to cash out is the antithesis of the capitalism we need to strenghten our economy and our nation.

First off this sounds so stupid on the part of KB and GSI that I have to believe there must be some details left out - like looming bankruptcy, perhaps?  Coupled with an attempt to exaggerate selective events and view them through the worst lens possible?  But I'm not going to bother to look into it.

Second, there are a lot of people at Bain working on a lot of things.  Just like any corporate HQ, certainly in the area of financial services.  Even if your rendition is the absolute truth, are you saying Romney was responsible for everything that went on there?  As you can imagine, those projects get complicated - everyone at Bain knew all the details of all projects?  You must not have ever worked at an office at a decision making level - most people are so busy working on their own projects they don't really pay attention to things they aren't involved with.  At best they are somewhat aware of major projects other departs have going on.  Are any of us responsible for what other employees in other departments do where we work?

People that really don't have a lot of experience in certain areas, and for some reason are full of bile and class envy, are so easily led by the Left.

Even if your rendition is the complete truth and Romney was behind it, Obama has still destroyed more jobs and wealth in this country than Bain Capital could ever hope to do. And he's looking to do more damage.  The D's should be embarrassed that 5 years in their wasteful stimulus isn't working, we're 6 or 7 Trillion deeper in debt, there's little sign of recovery on the horizon. And they want to double down.

If we continue, they'll do for the rest of us what they've done to our cities.

Bain Capital was an offshoot from Bain & Company.  They set it up in 1984 specifically for Romney to do venture capital and startup companies like Staples.  Because he was good at it.

In 1989 Ban Capital expanded to do LBOs and more mature businesses.  They broke even on about half, lost money on most of the others that couldn't be saved, and made good money on about 10 or 12.   It's high risk, high reward.  There are going to be disasters along the way.

While all that was going on, MR went back to manage Bain & Company because they were floundering, then ran for US Senate, then basically saved the Utah Olympics, then became Gov of Mass.  So he was in and out at Bain Cap.  Others were doing the deals.  And the whole time he was listed on the letterhead as CEO.  Companies - certainly professional ones like finance - like to project stability to their clients.

You can make him out to be evil if you want.  Maybe he was.  But at least he's not on the side of al-Qaeda.  At least he isn't trying to wreck the United States system of free exchange and Constitutional representative government.

Why does he get a pass and Obama doesn't?  Bain Capital isn't a threat to the Republic, they are simply out making money investing in companies and providing consulting advice - some good, some not so good.  Like everyone else in that business.

I'm not here to support Romney.  I doubt he was a great governor.  He seemed to be a Rino.  He ran a lousy campaign and didn't put out any good ideas that resonated.

But he isn't a Louis Farrakhan clone whose only skill is reading a teleprompter either.

He wouldn't be sending weapons to al-Qaeda in Syria, he wouldn't be projecting weakness abroad.  And he just might have some ideas about how to incentivize companies to expand and hire workers, and encourage entrepreneurs.  Instead of telling them they didn't build that and that we're going to spread the wealth around.

SR-71

Romney should have won. I'm no fan of comrade obama. Obama is sending the us of a down the wrong tracks. He is turning the us of a into uss of a. The country is getting deeper in debt because of comrade obama.
